Setaş was founded in 1966 as a producer and representative agency of dye and chemicals for textiles and
leather industries. In 1989 Setaş ceased to be a representative agency for other companies and focused on its own
production.
1997 saw the first production of print pastes for cellulose fibers and acid and metal complex dyes for
polyamide fibers. In 2002 Setaş became the first and only Turkish
member of ETAD (The Ecological and Toxicological
Association of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers), a distinguished organization of world’s
most prominent dye producers that work on human health and environmental protection. All prominent
organizations had been active in those areas with the sense of protecting our common future. In 2003 Setaş began the production of organic synthetic pigment as well as liquid acrylic paint for
textileand paper sectors. Setaş also began masterbatch production in 2004. Proving itself within a short period of time, Setaş
became the greatest supplier in Turkey in one of the most important branches of chemical industry. In 2007 Setaş began the production of lubricants for fiber lubricating technologies as well as investing in
a new business branch. Metal coating sector met Setaş colours when electrostatic powdered paint facility
began production. Denim fashion keeps it dynamism with special effects. In 2010 Setaş began its chemical production
project to help the sector in developing new products. Turkey’s continuing global leadership in denim
production was a locomotive for Setaş’s research and development. In 2011 Setaş formed a partnership and acquired the moiety of Yapıchem company for the production of
construction chemicals. Setaş opened a technology center to unite its various chemistry based disciplines and embark upon new
projects with the synergy created there. The motto “power is comes from communication and information
sharing” is one of the fundamental principles of this center. Setaş will strengthen its current units and pursue new investments in harmony with the global advancements.
