The EIC - The European Innovation Council Board President Michiel Scheffer’s visit to RS Research, shortly after the successful completion of our lead candidate’s Phase 1 clinical trial, was deeply meaningful.
We especially valued the opportunity, within such a demanding agenda, to share not only our clinical milestone but also the broader RS Research platform story, including our GMP capabilities, the next stage of our international growth and the momentum now building around our Series B discussions.
Start-ups lead new ways of thinking and turn bold ideas into real outcomes. A comment from President Scheffer stayed with us: “Learning from each other is very important. Keeping each other sharp is crucial”.
The growing momentum from Boğaziçi Üniversitesi and Center for Targeted Therapy Technologies - CT³ to Koç Üniversitesi and Teknopark İstanbul, the visit brought together innovators, researchers and EIC beneficiaries around a shared question: how can we continue strengthening our contribution to European innovation?
EIC - The European Innovation Council and its ambition to become a truly global innovation instrument, resonates strongly with RS Research. We are scaling with the ambition to become a European success story that reaches patients globally. For us, Prof. Rana Sanyal's European Prize for Women Innovators was never the final chapter of the story. It rather marked the beginning of a greater responsibility.
We thank President Scheffer for his visit and thoughtful exchanges, and we are equally grateful to Deputy Minister Kasım Gönüllü and TÜBİTAK delegation, as well as Mr. Bulent Ozcan together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs team who supported us throughout this journey and, in many ways, stood with us as hosts in this memorable occasion. We leave these two days even more motivated for the steps ahead.

PharmUp Meet-Up created an honest and constructive life sciences atmosphere, hosted by Fark Labs and Sanofi. Prof. Rana Sanyal joined as a panelist, together with Dr. Zeliha Özdemir Köken from Türkiye Sağlık Enstitüleri Başkanlığı, and Dr. Damla Turan from T.C. Sanayi ve Teknoloji Bakanlığı. With President of Investment and Finance Office of the Presidency Burak Dağlıoğlu's presence, it was clear that life sciences investment is being treated as a strategic priority by public institutions.

As we continue global conversations toward our upcoming Series B, it is energizing to see our ecosystem stakeholders are increasingly willing to share the work, the risks and the responsibility of building the future of biotech entrepreneurship.

One remark stayed with us from Dr. Damla Turan: we need a clear “why” for everything we do. In life sciences, that “why” reaches beyond any single entrepreneur or start-up. It touches people we may never meet across the world, which is exactly why it matters. At RS Research, that’s what we call “the quest to find meaning”. It is what keeps our team and partners aligned and urges us to move faster.

Fark Labs Founder Ahu Buyukkusoglu Serter captured it well in her keynote: you can shape the game when your structure rests on strong pillars. For us, those pillars are agility, doing the right thing and refusing to treat obstacles as the end-game. Prof. Rana Sanyal also underlined a practical truth: all parties want results, but entrepreneurs have the urgency since their livelihood depends on it. Scaling excellence means building an ecosystem whose pace matches this urgency to support that the next step takes place today, not tomorrow.

Every cancer journey carries its own challenges, timelines and realities. What unites them is the need for science that listens, adapts and responds with innovation.

This World Cancer Day, let’s take a moment to think about what doesn’t show up in a chart:
