🚢 Trinidad and Tobago’s maritime sector is ready for its next chapter.
🌎 With our strategic location, strong logistics base, energy services, shipping activity, yacht services and natural geographical advantage, Trinidad and Tobago is well positioned to become an even stronger maritime hub for the region.
🤝 Today, EUROCHAMTT was pleased to host the EU–Caribbean Investment Mission in the maritime sector under the Global Gateway Investment Agenda, which supports public and private investment in high-quality, sustainable infrastructure through a Team Europe approach.
⚓ We were joined by EUROCHAMTT members from logistics, shipping, energy and engineering, along with the Shipping Association of Trinidad & Tobago (SATT), eight EU company representatives already operating in the region, colleagues from the European Union in Trinidad and Tobago EU to Barbados, Eastern Caribbean States, the OECS, Caricom & Cariforum and the Embassy of Belgium based in Jamaica.
💡 The discussion was candid, constructive and focused on market entry, doing business, digital infrastructure, sustainability and the opportunities ahead for Trinidad and Tobago’s maritime sector. We look forward to building on today’s engagement and advancing the follow-up work. 🌱 Cargo Consolidators Agency Ltd Asco Logistics Pvt Ltd Siemens Energy

We have just concluded an extremely valuable and productive meeting of the EBO Worldwide Network, held from 1–5 June 2026 at the Albert Borschette Congress Center in Brussels.

This annual gathering brought together European Business Organisations from around the world, European Commission stakeholders, including DG INTPA, DG Trade, DG Energy and DG GROW and stakeholders representing business, such as the Enterprise Europe Network, BusinessEurope and Eurochambres.

This year, 54 of the 59 member countries of the EBO network were represented, reflecting the strength and reach of the global EBO network.

Discussions focused on key priorities including trade agreements, supply chain diversification, clean energy, critical raw materials, innovation, competitiveness, regulatory simplification, and new legislation such as The Industrial Acceleration Act, designed to bolster Europe's domestic manufacturing, accelerate industrial decarbonization, and secure strategic supply chain.

For the Americas and Caribbean region, we also had excellent exchanges with DG Trade officers and COLEAD.link, discussing shared priorities, opportunities, and challenges across our countries.

Countries that have signed and are implementing trade agreements with the EU are well placed to benefit from the opportunities ahead. We look forward to continuing this important work and strengthening collaboration across the region and the wider EBO network.

Thanks to the European Commission Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SME for its continued support to the network.

This World Environment Day 2026, we are inspired by nature—and reminded that better decisions begin with better data. At our Sustainability Champion Awards 2026, keynote speaker Jelmer de Winter of Fugro highlighted how geo-data helps governments, engineers, and communities build climate resilience, protect coastlines, restore ecosystems, and plan smarter for the future. From Tuvalu to Grenada, real-world examples show how data-driven insights can support sustainable development and safeguard vulnerable communities. Sustainability is not only about technology; it is about the choices we make today to protect future generations.

Sustainability Champion Awards 2026 – Part 3🌱

On 15 May 2026, EUROCHAMTT was pleased to host the Sustainability Champion Awards 2026, convening partners, sponsors, applicants, and members of the business community who are advancing sustainability in Trinidad and Tobago.
In this third feature, we recognise three more of the nine companies that completed and submitted detailed self-assessments for evaluation by an independent committee:

Handmade by Jeanette
Demonstrates a strong circular approach to food production by upcycling agricultural by-products and reducing preservatives through drying techniques. The company also supports smallholder farmers and local producers through direct, fair relationships, while quantifying Scope 1, 2, and selected Scope 3 emissions.

Milagros Solutions Limited
Shows leadership in plastic waste collection and upcycling into plastic lumber, pallets, and pellets through a circular-economy partnership model. Its work with communities through education and awareness also reinforces social stewardship and shared responsibility.

New Steam Laundry
Has implemented practical sustainability improvements through fuel switching, recycling, solar PV, reusable bags, and paper reduction. The company also demonstrates inclusive employment practices and tracks a range of measurable environmental outcomes.

These examples highlight the diverse ways businesses are embedding sustainability into their operations, communities, and long-term strategies.

Part 2 EUROCHAMTT was delighted to host the Sustainability Champion Awards 2026 on 15 May 2026, bringing together partners, sponsors, applicants, and businesses that are helping to drive sustainability in Trinidad and Tobago.
Today, we are pleased to spotlight the first 3 of the 9 companies that completed and submitted detailed self-assessments for review by an independent committee:
1. 3 Circles Energy Consultants Limited – Creating tourism experiences centred on restoration, conservation, and waste removal. The company makes a strong social contribution by ensuring a significant share of income stays within local communities through guides, artisans, drivers, and other service providers. Sustainability is built into daily decision-making, and since measurement began in 2024, more than 1 tonne of plastic has been diverted through tracked waste removal and recycling efforts.
2. ASCO Logistics Trinidad – Demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability by measuring and managing emissions, water, and waste, with major reductions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions against a 2019 baseline. The company also monitors employee satisfaction and HSSEQ performance through formal indicators, and applies a structured risk matrix across strategic, operational, financial, climate, and regulatory risks. Its annual sustainability reporting and transparent disclosure of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, alongside waste and water data, reflect one of the most mature approaches among applicants.
3. Automation Technology College Ltd (ATC) – Showing how technical education can support sustainability through practical action. ATC tracks energy and material use, recycles PVC, and is introducing efficiency upgrades and renewable backup power. Its strongest social contribution comes through skills development, while its phased transition toward net zero highlights clear planning and commitment. The college currently tracks Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions and is developing procedures for Scope 1.
