📍 NEDCO TAKES ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT TO FREEPORT & CLAXTON BAY
NEDCO's community outreach continued today, with engagements in Freeport and Claxton Bay, bringing the Company’s financing, training and business advisory services directly to communities.
In Freeport, NEDCO was honoured to have Dr. the Honourable David Lee, Minister of Housing and Member of Parliament for Caroni Central, join the engagement. Minister Lee welcomed the NEDCO team and encouraged members of the community to take advantage of the opportunities and support available through NEDCO.
The outreach then continued in Claxton Bay, where NEDCO was welcomed by Mr. Hansen Narinesingh, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training and Member of Parliament for Claxton Bay. Mr. Narinesingh also encouraged members of the community to engage with NEDCO and make use of the financing and business support opportunities available.
At both locations, NEDCO Chairman, Mr. Ken Lakan and CEO, Mr. Danny Maharaj, brought greetings and highlighted the Company’s commitment to bringing its services closer to the people and supporting entrepreneurs at different stages of their business journey.
The engagements provided an opportunity for NEDCO to connect directly with community members, learn more about their business needs, and provide information on financing, training and business advisory services. There was strong interest in NEDCO’s loan programmes, with persons asking questions, exploring the services available, and seeking guidance on how they could access financing and other forms of support.
Persons who were ready to move forward with their financing applications were guided through the next steps and referred directly to NEDCO branches to continue the process.
The response from community members also reinforced the value of taking NEDCO’s services directly to the people. Many expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet with the team, have their questions answered and learn more about how NEDCO can support their entrepreneurial goals.
These engagements are an important part of NEDCO’s mandate to support entrepreneurship and expand access to opportunities for micro and small businesses. By bringing its services directly into communities, NEDCO is creating a more direct connection with the people it serves; listening to their needs, addressing their questions and connecting them with the tools and resources needed to start, strengthen and grow their businesses.
NEDCO remains committed to meeting entrepreneurs where they are, making access to support more convenient, and helping turn business aspirations into action.
