The Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) is warning taxpayers to be on alert for fraudulent e-mails falsely claiming to be from the Inland Revenue Division (IRD) and urging recipients to download attachments or click on links.

Before calculating your quarterly LBS due, ensure you are using the official guidance provided by the Board of Inland Revenue (BIR). There is currently no authorized online LBS calculator.

Landlord Business Surcharge Registration Deadline Extended to June 30th, 2026 Following Public Engagement

Minister of Finance, The Honourable Davendranath Tancoo, MP, said the extension follows engagement with stakeholders and members of the public, and is intended to give landlords additional time to organise documents, complete registration and avoid penalties.

“This extension strengthens the implementation, while ensuring that the rental sector is better regulated and positioned for further growth.” - Minister Tancoo

Non-exempt landlords are encouraged to use the extended period to regularise their position and become compliant.
