The Inland Revenue Division wishes to advise the public that effective July 1st, 2025, Personal Cheques will no longer be accepted to settle Outstanding Liabilities when applying for VAT and TAX Clearance Certificates.

Payments can be made via Certified Cheques, Cash and Linx ONLY.

Please be guided accordingly.

Congratulations to the new and returning members of Council

Marissa Quashie and Arun Seenath have been re-elected as President and Vice-President of ICATT for the 2025/2026 term.

Reaffirming their commitments to the accountancy profession, President Quashie said “It’s an honour to continue serving and shaping the future of the profession alongside a dedicated Council, CEO Marsha Caballero and Secretariat. Together, we will build on our momentum and continue delivering value to our members, stakeholders and the wider community.”

The Honourable Colm Imbert Minister of Finance in the 2nd Sitting of the Senate, yesterday 17th September 2024, advised that:

1. Property Tax Online Payment System: "We are very close to a solution with respect to this matter. I expect it to be imminent. "

2. "Persons who have not received their Notice of Assessment from the Board of Inland Revenue (BIR), are not at fault and would not be subject to any penalties and interest.”.

Congratulations to the new Executive 👏

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago (ICATT) held its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and first meeting of Council for the period 2024/2025 virtually on March 28, 2024.

Following the AGM was the first Council Meeting of the Institute for the 2024/2025 period. Elected to serve as President was Marissa Quashie while Arun Seenath was elected to serve as Vice-President.
