Renown Counselling Services RENOWN Services is a private counselling service dedicated to meeting the holistic needs of our clients.

RENOWN Counselling Services, established in 2016, was birthed from the aspirations of one of Trinidad's first Psychologists, Sankar Samuel Chattergoon, Ph.D. Currently, the services we offer come from over 23 years of practice and inculcate the following acronym:

R- Revisit
E- Educate
N- Nurture
O- Ownership
W- Wisdom
N- Negotiate

Those key words guide the goals of this establishment which focus

es on the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems and changing unhelpful patterns in thought. Our clients come from a diverse segment of the population and individual or family intervention is problem-focused and action-oriented. As such, treatment plans are carefully tailored and monitored using contemporary counselling theories. Services include, but are not limited to:

* Stress/anger coping skills

* Pre-marital counselling

The office, located at 28 Park Street, San Fernando, is on the first floor of the brand new Face and Body Clinic, just opposite the ASJA Boys College. Spacious parking is provided in a secure location and the office can be accessed by wheelchair, via the elevators.

The World Health Organisation stated that in the year 2020, depression will be the leading mental illness. Statistics in Trinidad and Tobago is that one(1) in four(4) people will suffer from a mental disorder. Many clients seeking therapy from me are addicted to some psychotropic substance, especially now with ma*****na being decriminalised. Psychosis, induced by legal and illegal drugs has ravaged the younger population. Many have become unemployed and unemployable. Disintegration of family life compounded by the erosion of spiritual values has wreaked havoc on the population. But there is hope.....great hope.... The hands and ears of Almighty God is continuously reaching, caring and healing. So where do we begin? Let us forgive, forgive others , forgive ourselves and love. May the Peace of Almighty God be upon each of you.

Just read on a friend's post that one of her friends dad died suddenly from what seems to be a lack of proper medical intervention. How long will it take that grief to turn into anger and more importantly what can be done for the family at this time?
