Let me tell you something.

The world is spending billions on anti-ageing clinics, gyms, and fancy supplements. And here is this man - eating crab and dumplings, blue food, fresh seafood, taking sea baths before sunrise, and living with more energy than people half his age.

No retirement. No slowing down. Just life. Full life.

Lord Nelson has performed in local calypso tents. Madison Square Garden. Carnegie Hall. The Smithsonian Institution. He gave a young Machel Montano - now the Caribbean's greatest soca artiste - his first stage in Paris.

Through kaiso, he talked about racism, colonialism, politics, inequality, corruption, and culture. And he made us laugh while doing it.

Lord Nelson is not just a calypsonian. He is what happens when a person stays rooted. In place. In purpose. In joy. In community.

The world keeps searching for what we Caribbean people already have.

Something has shifted in how the world sees the Caribbean - and if youโ€™re in tourism or marketing, you canโ€™t ignore it.

As moves through the Caribbean, millions are tuning in - not for polished campaigns, but for something real. The streets, the people, the energyโ€ฆ unfiltered.

Thatโ€™s not just content. Thatโ€™s a signal.

For years, tourism marketing has been built on curated images and controlled narratives.

But todayโ€™s audiences - especially younger ones - are responding to something very different: immediacy, authenticity, and lived experience.

And theyโ€™re not just watching. Theyโ€™re shaping perception in real time.

So the real question is no longer whether the Caribbean can attract attention. Clearly, it can.

The question is whether we are structured to convert that attention into real outcomesโ€”bookings, partnerships, investment, and long-term value.
