Nobody told me I needed a growth plan.

I thought working hard was enough…

It wasn’t.

For years, I relied on experience and work ethic.
But at some point, I realised:

👉🏾 I was busy… but not growing
👉🏾 Repeating years… not developing

Everything changed when I became intentional.

📚 Reading with purpose
👥 Getting in rooms that stretched me
🧠 Learning from mentors who challenged me

That’s when growth started to happen.

💡 Growth doesn’t just happen. You choose it.

Not because of attitude—
But because of DISC style under stress.

Too often, leaders misread behaviour:
❌ “They don’t care”
❌ “They’re disengaged”

When in reality…
💡 They are operating from pressure, not intention.

Understanding DISC doesn’t excuse behaviour.
It explains patterns—and that’s where growth begins.

Leadership is less about your position…
and more about your disposition.

I learned that on my very first day on the job.

I was given a simple task…
🔌 Plug a cable into a receiver.

But it didn’t fit.

Anxiety hit.
Self-doubt crept in.

Then I realised something deeper…

💡 I wasn’t set up to succeed.
I was set up to fail.

And in that moment, I made a decision:

👉🏾 That’s not the kind of leader I’ll ever be.

From that day forward, I committed to creating spaces where:

✔ People can try
✔ People can fail
✔ People can learn
✔ And still feel supported

Because your attitude creates the atmosphere.
And that atmosphere shapes your team’s response.

I once promoted someone because they were brilliant.

Technically exceptional.
High performer.
No question about it.

But within months… something changed.

❌ Collaboration slowed
❌ People stopped speaking up
❌ The energy in the room shifted

It wasn’t their skill.
It was their disposition.

The eye rolls.
The sighs.
The way they reacted when things got tough.

And I learned something powerful:

👉🏾 A leader’s attitude sets the atmosphere.

In too many organisations, the first instinct is:

But strong teams don’t just surface problems…
They solve them.
