- Plant-Microbe interactions, Induced resistance, elicitor-biomolecules, bioremediation, biological control, molecular based disease diagnostics.

- Genetic engineering of plants for disease resistance and stress tolerance.

- Phyto-nutraceuticals.

- Marine Seaweed products for agriculture and human health.

- Antibiotic resistance in bacterial pathogens

- Biological nitrogen fixation.

- Microorganisms involved in degradation of environmental contaminants.

- Bioaerosols impacting on indoor air quality.

- Diseases of tropical crops.

- Identification of novel antibiotic compounds from microbes.
