此計畫取名為「竹東小客廳Sittingroom@CHUTUNG」，客廳是指接待客人用的房間，也是一般家人喝茶聊天、放鬆休息的公共空間，我們希望造訪基地的人像來到竹東的小客廳，在輕鬆舒適的氛圍下，可以從小客廳中展示的讀物、藝術創作與研究成果當中，了解竹東的歷史與現狀。竹東小客廳的設立，讓在地人參與我們舉辦的展覽交流活動，逐步強化地方的認同與自信；外地訪客亦能在小客廳當中，進一步了解竹東精神與特色。

「竹東小客廳」的展示內容，以竹東歷史訪談、街道美化案例示範、街區調查紀錄為主。週末將不定期舉辦不同類型之工作坊與講座等等，期盼對於竹東街道空間有想法的有志之士加入我們，一起來客廳坐坐吧！
