“教育的整個目的是把鏡子變成窗戶”
一般情況下，在教育機構獲得的知識與學生進入勞動力市場時的技能要求之間存在差距。在課堂上學到的知識往往像一面鏡子，只是從一個人的角度反映出的信息，還沒有被應用到當前多變的工作環境中。近日，我們有幸為國立雲林科技大學的一些學生們舉辦工廠參觀遊學活動。這是我們第一次舉辦這樣的活動，感覺非常激動。
我們的希望是讓學生們在未來進入印刷行業時，能多一瞥眼界，成為課堂與外界聯繫的窗口，向他們展示包裝設計如何轉化為實物產品，向他們展示設計理念與製造業實用性之間的關係，並向他們介紹當今課程尚未掌握的印刷行業最新技術和方法。同時，通過與學生的互動, 他們也成為我們了解未來勞動力庫的窗口。
這次活動對我們來說是個很棒的經歷。感謝老師對成為未來孩子的偉大教育者的承諾和奉獻。您的貢獻一定會塑造一個更美好的世界。至於同學們，謝謝你們的參與。你們每個人在求知中的熱情和積極主動的態度都值得高度讚揚。我們希望你們每一位都度過了愉快的時光，並從我們身上學到了很多東西，就像我們從你們身上學到很多一樣。有一天，你們中的一些人可能成為我們的同事，一些人可能轉而為我們的競爭對手工作，一些人甚至可能走上一條完全不同的道路，但無論選擇何種道路，我們都知道你們會做出非凡的事情。
“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows”
More often than not, there is a gap between knowledge gained in education institutions and skill requirements when students enter the workforce. Knowledge learned in a classroom is often like a mirror, a mere reflection of information from a person’s own perspective, yet to be applied in the volatility of current work environment. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a factory tour for a study trip for some students of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. This was our first time hosting such an event, and it felt really exciting.
Our hope is to allow the students to gain a glimpse of perspective when entering the printing industry in the future, to be the window that connects the classroom to the outside world, to show them how packaging designs is turned into physical products, to show them the relationship between design ideas and practicality in manufacturing, and to introduce them to the latest technology and methods in the printing industry yet to be caught up by today’s curriculum. Concurrently, through interacting with the students, they become our window into the future labor pool.
This event was a great experience for us. Thank you Teacher for your commitment and dedication in being a great educator to the children of the future. Your contributions will certainly shape a better world. As for the students, thank you for your participation. Every single one of you deserves high praises for your enthusiasm and proactive approach in seeking knowledge. We hope that all of you had a wonderful time, and learned from us just as much as we learned from you. Someday, some of you may be our colleagues, some may be working for our competitors instead, and some may even embark on a whole different path altogether, but regardless of the path chosen, we know you will do extraordinary things.
