楓邑國際

公元 2014 年中旬，楓邑國際創辦人與音宗企業股份有限公司（In Tzong Enterprise Co., Ltd.）前董事長談論到後 2008 全球金融海嘯時代，以及 2010 年的臺中縣市合併升格，對於原縣治所在地「豐原」所造成的政經影響。顯而易見的是，這座城鎮的中心商業區（CBD）正由以往工商繁榮的景象，呈現漸趨蕭條的景況。除了期待公部門的振興方案外，身為在地企業家，音宗前董座毅然決定加碼投資家鄉並鼓勵青年創業，而與本公司創辦人開始商討合夥成立一間辦公總部位於豐原的新企業。

另一方面，臺灣是座以「貿易立國」的海島，楓邑創辦人在自行創業前亦任職於臺中（潭子）加工出口區附近的一家中小型國際貿易商，擔任產品專案經理（國外業務）。在參考了鄰國日本特有之「商社」概念後，確立了將新創立的公司定位為「綜合型國際貿易公司」，著手展開創業的相關籌備事宜。而辦公總部的選址，則是由音宗前董座提供其位

在豐原廟東商圈的「芝柏信義大廈」閒置樓層，委託予本公司創辦人進行整修與活化，成為了楓邑國際的發跡地。公元 2014 年 7 月份，本公司正式完成立案登記程序。


Around mid-2014, the founder of Mapleton International Corp. about the prospects of Fengyuan District, Taichung where is not only the hometown for both of them, but also the former county seat of Taichung County. Unfortunately, due to the 2008 Global Financial Crisis and the 2010 Taichung County-City Consolidation, Fengyuan was gradually losing its relative importance of political and economic position in Taiwan. It was obvious to see that the downtown of Fengyuan has been turning from industrial and commercial prosperity to depression. Besides some revitalisation programs from the public sector, as a local entrepreneur, the former President of In Tzong Enterprise resolutely decided to increase his investment in Fengyuan, supporting local youth entrepreneurship. As a result, the establishment plan of Mapleton International Corporation was officially started. Furthermore, Taiwan is an island, basing its development on trade. Before setting up Mapleton International Corp., the company founder has also worked as a project manager (international sales representative) in a SME trading company which is located nearby the Taichung (Tanzi) Export Processing Zone. In addition, refer to the concept of Japanese "general trading companies (sogo shosha)", Mapleton International is self-positioned as an "integrated international trading company." Regarding the selection of the corporate headquarters location, the former President of In Tzong Enterprise has been inexpensively offering his abandoned building floors (located on the top three floors of the GP Xinyi Building) to Mapleton International Corp. In July 2014, the company registration was completed.

命名由來：楓邑國際，取「封邑」之諧音，封邑又稱「采」或「采邑」。而「楓」字源自「楓采汽車旅館」；「邑」字則是與「貿易」的易以及企業總部所在「信義街／芝柏信義大廈」的義同音，同時「邑」又代表了城鎮（Town；-ton），與公司英文名稱「Mapleton International Corp.」相互呼應，符合中英文命名的一致性。

The Corporate Name: the Chinese characters: "楓邑" is pronounced the same as "封邑", which means "fief" in classical Chinese. As two separate Chinese characters, "楓" means "Maple" and "邑" means "Town"; therefore, the company was named "Mapleton" in English in order to be corresponding with its Chinese name.

企業標誌設計理念 - 楓邑之盾：創辦人草擬之企業標誌設計概念，參考了古典騎士紋章的「盾徽」，並以公司英文名稱 Mapleton 的開頭字母「Ｍ」，進一步結合楓葉意象以及漢字「邑」的形體，合而為一。並考量到企業標誌應具現代化的簡潔線條風格，最終由現行的標誌獲選。

Logo Design Concepts - Shield of Mapleton: the logo of Mapleton International Corp. was initially designed by the company founder. Its fundamental design concept is derived from classical heraldry: "coat of arms". The logo design is further integrated with the letter "M" of Mapleton, the symbol of maple leaf, and the Chinese character "邑", combining all of these concepts together into one modern style corporate logo with clean lines.
