艾索羅夫紀事講述的是一個人類族群移居外星的科幻故事，情節描述人類角色們遭遇外星原住族群，還有更早抵達的進化人類組織，三者之間的衝突與合作，靈感來自早期移民客家族群與福建移民、原住民之間的博弈與衝突。本作品以未來科幻設定創作，以福爾摩沙（Formosa）字母反序創造的文字ASOMROF（艾索羅夫）作為標題隱喻，以參考科學事實的「硬科幻」作為基底與其他作品區隔，並訴求「歷史不會重演，但總是驚人的相似」所賦予文本的寫實感，更認為「移居與墾殖」很可能是許多民族的集體記憶，不僅訴求在地，而且希望走向國際。
