Most people think serial entrepreneurs win because they’re lucky.
It’s actually this: they obsess over the money.

What if your biggest emotional triggers are the ones you don’t even notice?

Emotional intelligence is awareness, understanding how you impact others, how they impact you, and recognising the space between a trigger and your response.

That space is where better decisions are made.

What triggers are you not aware of yet?

Wakeboarding used to require a helicopter. Now it fits in a backpack.

Back in the ’90s, filming a wakeboarding movie meant calling my uncle, taking the doors off his helicopter and flying it down the river while we rode below.

Petrol boat. Helicopter. Noise. Huge cost.

Today?

⚡ Electric boat.
🚁 Drone.
🔋 Batteries.

Same river. Same sport. Completely different technology.

What once cost a fortune can now be done with gear you can carry yourself.

That’s how fast technology changes the game.

What if the biggest thing slowing down your progress on the water… is the boat itself?

More riding time. Faster progression. Easier coaching. No engine noise drowning out instructions.

Electric boats could completely change the experience for both riders and coaches.

For water sports, this isn’t just about new technology, it could change how quickly people learn.

What if thousands of diseases all start with the same problem?

Dr. Anthony Salzarulo explains a different way of looking at disease: when our cells stop functioning properly, symptoms begin, and eventually, those symptoms get a name.

Could the real question be: what caused the cells to malfunction in the first place?

Brace, brace, brace, brace.

This is what we would scream at the top of our lungs in an emergency landing situation.

At Emirates Airline, we trained for this over and over again. We prepared for the emergency before the emergency ever happened.

Thankfully, it never did.

But in the business world, emergency situations can feel a lot more real.

I want you to imagine this.

It's Sunday night.

You've finally relaxed after a big week of work. Saturday was mentally draining, but by Sunday you've found some peace of mind.

Now you're looking towards the new week with hope for a better future.

A clean slate.

No conflicts.

New services sold.

New opportunities ahead.

The mind is in a good place: high hope, low doubt.

And that was the plan...

Until the body starts squirting cortisol at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning.

The adrenal glands start pumping. The fight-or-flight response kicks in.

Suddenly, that high hope and low doubt starts disappearing, and anxiety begins creeping in.

And it's not always about external worries.

It's often about the inner operations of the business.

Do I have enough time?

Do I have the right team?

Do we have enough resources?

Whose bad habits are going to slip back in this week?

Now the battle is with the inner demons.

And that's how Monday begins:

Poor sleep. High anxiety.

And by the way, some level of this is normal.

One of my mentors once told me, "If you're not having the feeling of three or four heart attacks a week about your business, you're not in business yet—or you're not pushing hard enough."

The lesson for me was that as business people, we have to learn how to manage these anticipatory anxieties.

We need to better regulate the stress response, our hormonal balance, and the way our body responds under pressure.

For me, technology has become part of that process.

Since I started using sound frequency therapies as part of the way I manage my physical, emotional and mental state, I've noticed that I feel much calmer.

Those moments of intense business anxiety still come.

The difference is they go almost as quickly as they came.

Let me tell you what Saturday feels like for people who have been sleep compromised during the week.

They want no human contact.

They want to be left alone.

Their social battery has been depleted, and Saturday becomes a day to recover from the week they've just survived.

But for those who have slept well during the week, Saturday feels completely different.

They wake up feeling like He-Man: "I have the power."

They're like a football player begging the coach to send them back onto the field.

They still have energy in reserve.

They want more time in the business so they can weave their magic. They have more energy for their goals, more energy for their family, and more energy for themselves.

And because they're not spending Saturday trying to recover, something else happens.

They continue being creative.

They think about their passions. They think about their work. And without forcing it, they start generating new ideas.

Have you ever noticed what happens when you put the pen and paper down, close the computer and go for a walk?

All the bright ideas start coming to you.

You hop in the shower, and suddenly you have another bright idea.

That's what a normal Saturday can feel like for someone who has slept well.

The fire is still burning hot.

Unfortunately, for those who don't have a healthy sleep balance, there's a form of karma that seems to come with poor sleep.

You lose your work/life balance.

You can't find your flow.

You find it difficult to create boundaries between work and home life because your mind never really switches off.

And eventually, you can lose sight of your North Star.

Instead of being obsessed with your goals and the solutions, you become obsessed with the problems.

That's the difference good sleep can make.

For people who have slept well during the week, Saturday becomes a time to focus on their other passions.

They have the ability to separate work and pleasure in their mind.

Their focus isn't scattered.

They can be in the present moment.

They can accept what they have no control over.

And perhaps the biggest reward is that they can actually switch off.

Because switching off doesn't mean you've lost your ambition.

It means you're giving yourself the opportunity to recover so you can come back stronger.

There's research showing that extended time away from work can improve recovery, wellbeing and performance when you return.

That's the difference between a normal Saturday for somebody who sleeps well and somebody who's been sleep compromised.

One gets to enjoy Saturday.

The other needs Saturday to recover.

If you have a sleep problem, I have a sleep solution.

Check it out.

It's in my bio.
