🚻⚡ Want to add ozone to a urinal—does the whole system need to be redesigned?

Not necessarily.

ERDEN is developing an ozone module designed for integration into urinal flushing systems, so the first step isn’t replacing everything—it’s evaluating the existing product.

Depending on the urinal design, integration can be assessed for:

① External sensor flush valves
② In-wall sensor flush valves
③ Integrated sensor urinals / all-in-one designs

🔧 The key is the existing structure, available installation space, water path, and control method.

For urinal and flush-valve manufacturers, this means ozone functionality may be considered from an integration perspective, rather than starting from a completely new product design.

💡 Keep the existing product. Evaluate first. Integrate where feasible.

💧🚻 What happens when ordinary flushing gets a new teammate? Meet O₃!

U-Lee has always relied on water for daily flushing.
But this time, Ozone (O₃) joins the team!

ERDEN integrates ozone into the automatic sensing flush process:

👋 Sensor detection
➡️ System activation
➡️ Ozone introduced into the flushing water
➡️ Automatic flushing

Instead of focusing only on visible surface rinsing, the concept is to extend hygiene management into the flushing process and areas along the water path—helping support cleanliness and odor management in public restrooms.

💧 Water handles the flushing.
⚡ O₃ adds another layer to the hygiene-management process.

And here comes the next question:

🤔 Do we need to replace the entire urinal system to add ozone?

🔍👾 Where are the germs really hiding?

A urinal may look clean on the outside, but hygiene management shouldn’t stop at the visible ceramic surface.

Germs and residue may also accumulate around areas that are harder to see or reach during routine flushing:

✅ Urinal surface
✅ Drain opening
✅ Internal drain piping

That’s why simply “flushing more” may not address every source related to restroom cleanliness and odor.

🚻 Effective urinal hygiene means looking beyond the surface and considering the entire drainage path.

And now… a new teammate is about to join the mission. 💧⚡

🚻💧 It flushed. The surface looks clean. So why is there still a smell?

That’s exactly what U-Lee is wondering! 😳

Automatic flushing can help rinse the visible surface, but restroom odor may come from places that flushing water doesn’t fully reach—especially the drain outlet and internal piping.

👾 And our sneaky Odor Monster knows exactly where to hide…

So the real question isn’t simply:

❌ “Did it flush?”

It’s:

🔍 Where is the odor actually coming from?

In the next episode, U-Lee and Aqua will follow the clues deeper into the system and uncover where the Odor Monster is really hiding.

🚻💧 The restroom keeps flushing… so why does the odor keep coming back?

More flushing doesn’t always mean the odor problem is solved.

In public restrooms, unpleasant odors may be related to more than what we see on the urinal surface. Residue and contamination can also build up around:

✔ Ceramic surfaces
✔ Drain outlets
✔ Internal piping
✔ Areas that are difficult to clean regularly

That means simply increasing the number of flushes may use more water without addressing every source of odor.

So where are those restroom odors really hiding? 👀

🐟🫧 SERIES FINALE — How Do We Evaluate a Microbubble System for a Fish Pond?

After this series, there’s one key idea we hope aquaculture operators remember:

❌ Don’t start with:
“Which pump should I buy?”
or
“How many microbubble units do I need?”

Start with the pond itself.

Before deciding on equipment, we need to understand:

✔ Pond structure & water volume
✔ Fish species
✔ Stocking density
✔ Current dissolved oxygen (DO)
✔ Required flow rate & operating pressure
✔ Existing pump conditions
✔ Piping layout
✔ Water circulation design
✔ Actual on-site conditions

Only after these factors are understood can we move on to the equipment configuration.

Why?

Because two ponds with the same water volume may still need very different setups due to differences in stocking density, water quality, piping, circulation and operating conditions.

👉 There is no one-size-fits-all configuration.

ERDEN’s approach is:

Understand the site → Evaluate the system → Match the equipment → Test with data → Adjust and optimize

The goal isn’t to sell you the biggest pump or the most equipment.

It’s to find a configuration that makes sense for your actual aquaculture system.

💬 Have a pond you’d like us to evaluate?

Send us your pond dimensions + water depth + species + stocking density + existing pump/piping information, and we can start from there.

🐟🫧 “There are lots of microbubbles, so the system must be working well… right?”

Not necessarily.

Seeing plenty of bubbles—or seeing fish swimming actively—can be useful observations, but they don’t tell us the whole story.

👉 For aquaculture, we need data.

When evaluating a microbubble system, we recommend recording key operating conditions such as:

✔ Dissolved oxygen (DO)
✔ Water temperature
✔ Operating pressure
✔ Actual flow rate
✔ Power consumption
✔ Measurement time & location

Why record all of these?

Because the same equipment may perform differently depending on the pond volume, piping, circulation pattern, water conditions and system configuration.

With actual measurements, we can compare:

Before operation → 10 min → 20 min → 30 min

Then we can see how DO changes and whether the current configuration is delivering the expected circulation and oxygen-transfer performance.

📊 Experience matters—but data helps us make better decisions.

Test → Record → Adjust → Optimize

That’s how ERDEN approaches aquaculture microbubble applications: not simply by looking at how many bubbles we can see, but by evaluating how the whole system actually performs in the pond.

🐟🫧 “My fish are already in the pond. Do I have to drill new holes to install a microbubble system?”

Not necessarily.

For an existing aquaculture pond, installation should start with the site conditions, not with drilling or modifying the pond.

Depending on the existing setup, different installation methods may be considered:

🔹 External / Hang-on Configuration
✔ Suitable for existing ponds where new drilling is not preferred
✔ More flexible for testing or future relocation

🔹 Direct-Connect Configuration
✔ Suitable when the pond already has existing pipe penetrations or circulation piping
✔ Can be integrated into the existing circulation system when conditions allow

Before recommending either option, we need to understand:

✔ Pond structure
✔ Existing piping
✔ Pump and operating conditions
✔ Water circulation method
✔ Aquaculture management goals

👉 There is no single installation method for every pond.

Our approach is simple:
Understand the site first → evaluate the existing system → then select the appropriate configuration.

This can help avoid unnecessary modifications while making better use of the equipment and piping already available.

💬 Already have fish in your pond and worried about modifying the existing structure?
Send us photos and basic information about your pond. We can start by evaluating the current setup.

🐟🫧 “My pond holds XX tons of water. Can’t we just calculate how many units I need?”

Not quite.

For example, one MB248S has a reference flow rate of approximately 15 L/min under our test conditions. But this number alone cannot determine how many units an aquaculture pond needs.

Why? Because the real goal is not simply to install more equipment—it is to create effective circulation throughout the pond.

A proper evaluation should also consider:

✔ Pond volume & layout
✔ Existing circulation system
✔ Piping configuration
✔ Water quality conditions
✔ Actual operating pressure & flow
✔ Cultured species and stocking conditions
✔ Target DO and water-management goals

Two ponds with the same water volume may require very different configurations.

👉 More equipment doesn’t automatically mean better results.
The right system configuration is what really matters.

That’s why ERDEN prefers to understand the actual site conditions before recommending the number and placement of MB248S units.

💧⚙️ “I already have a water pump. Can I use it with the microbubble system?”

This is another question we often hear from aquaculture operators.

Having a water pump is a good start—but it doesn’t automatically mean it can be connected directly to a microbubble system.

Before deciding, we need to check several key conditions:

✔ Actual flow rate
✔ Operating pressure
✔ Voltage & frequency
✔ Outlet / pipe diameter
✔ Pipe length & layout
✔ Existing circulation method

Why?

Because microbubble performance depends on the whole hydraulic system working together. A larger or more powerful pump is not necessarily better. If the flow rate, pressure and piping conditions don’t match, the system may not operate as expected.

👉 So before buying a new pump, let us evaluate the one you already have first.

You may already have a suitable pump—we just need the specifications and actual operating conditions to find out.
