📣The following information is the latest News from India. ‼
The Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2017, provides that every "telecom equipment" (Please note the definition of Telecom for TEC covers a wide range of devices.
Not limited to traditional Telecom products) must undergo mandatory testing and certification prior to SALE, IMPORT OF USE IN INDIA.
The testing is to be carried out for conformance to Essential Requirements for the equipment, by Indian Accredited Labs designated by TEC and based upon their test reports, the certificate shall be issued by TEC.
Products have been listed into different Phase levels and have their own mandatory date to fulfill the rule.
An OEM/Local Representative/Dealer shall not sell the equipment and a Local Representative
shall not import telecom/ related ICT equipment until it has been certified by TEC and the Certification Label is applied or embossed on the equipment.
