Advancing Nature-Based Solutions for Climate-Resilient Coastal Communities
Envex Consulting is providing technical oversight for the implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) aimed at addressing climate risks affecting vulnerable coastal communities in Pemba and Tanga. This important work is being undertaken in collaboration with our client, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).
The implementation builds on a comprehensive Climate Vulnerability Assessment conducted by Envex Consulting, which identified highly vulnerable coastal sites, major climate hazards, and priority ecosystems and communities at risk.
Following the assessment, Envex and WCS consulted local communities and government authorities to identify appropriate, locally relevant and sustainable NbS interventions. These consultations helped ensure that the selected solutions:

✅ Respond to community priorities
✅ Support ecosystem restoration
✅ Protect livelihoods
✅ Align with government development and environmental management frameworks
Through this assignment, Envex Consulting continues to deliver science-based, participatory and practical solutions that strengthen coastal resilience and protect communities from the growing impacts of climate change.
