The 100MW Singida wind farm project is being developed by Wind East Africa Ltd, whose equity holders are Six Telecoms (Tanzania), Aldwych International (U.K.), and IFC, a member of the World Bank Group.

The low-cost renewables project will be located in Singida, 700 kilometers from Dar es Salaam.By Tanzania undertaking pioneering projects like the Singida Wind East Africa project, it proves that the private sector can work hand in hand with the government to realize Tanzania’s power potential.

Being at an advanced stage of development, we would not have been able to reach this point without the support of the Government of Tanzania.

The Singida project’s total cost is estimated at $285 million, of which IFC, Aldwych and Six Telecoms will contribute roughly $71 million, and lenders to the project will contribute the remaining $214 million.
