12 GOLDEN RULES TO CONSIDER WHEN WRITING A CV/RESUME
Building a great cv is the first step to have that great internship or job that will change your life. Today’s job market is excessively competitive and you must stand out from the crowd with your cv and/or personal statement. Are you tired of having your cv end in the dustbin?. Do you need real techniques that will get your cv retain the attention of the Human Resource Manager? Here are 12 golden rules to consider while building a cv
1- Your cv should be two pages, maximum two and a half and never more than that. You could think filing a five page cv will mean you have broad experience and skills. NO! It simply shows to your employer your inability to summarise.
2- Present your CV in a clear and logical manner, using short sentences, bullet points, a single typeface, and remarkable headings
3- Your Personal statement should not be more than 3 lines. State your relevant past experience and where you’re heading to and most especially how relevant it is to the job you are applying for. You could consider updating the information herein anytime you are applying for a new opportunity
4- For each of your jobs, include the company name and address, your job title and dates of employment. Start with the most recent job first. And always ask yourself how relevant it is to your employer
5-Save the cv as your name- example MESSA’s cv
6- Use professional email addresses which bear your name. You sound more serious
7- You must not include your Date of birth, stating your age is enough.
8- Don’t add your Nationality except if you are applying for an International Opportunity
9- Include a Picture in your cv only if necessary for the job you are applying for
10- Hobbies and interests should be related to the job you are applying for. Don’t include this if irrelevant.
11- Produce an error-free cv. Read over and over again. You could even get someone else to check spellings, typos and grammatical mistakes.
12- Last and not the least, always be honest, accurate and able to defend any information on your CV during an interview. Being unable to defend your cv will ruin your reputation before your employer and reduce your chances of getting that opportunity.

COURSE: FUNDAMENTALS OF STARTING AND RUNNING A BUSINESS
(LESSON 1 OUT OF 3) DEVELOPING THE BUSINESS MODEL FOR YOUR STARTUP.
There’s going to be three learning objectives during this module. First, what is a business model? Second, what does scalability mean? And third, what is the essence of a great pitch?
Fifteen years ago, investors expected startups to spend great amounts of time writing long business plans filled with forecasts that were unlikely to ever be true. Today, sophisticated investors expect startup founders to focus on developing a business model for their startup, ideally one that scales.

A business model is the collection of assumptions that must be true in order for your startup to generate a consistent profit. These assumptions include a precise description of the customers you will engage, the problem you will solve for those customers, the features of the solution to that problem, the messages and channels you will use to connect to those customers, and the economics around what and how you will charge for your solution — and what it will cost you to provide it.

A scalable business model for your startup is one that not only enables the business to generate a profit but one that is well-suited to grow rapidly — and ideally become more profitable as the business becomes large. Rather than assuming that you have all the answers about your scalable business model from the start, you, as a smart entrepreneur today begin with the idea that you have hypotheses that must be tested through actual interactions with customers. It doesn’t matter what you think; it matters what you can validate through hard data derived from actual customer interactions.

The Lean Startup Methodology — popularized by Steve Blank and Eric Ries — is one important way of going through this continuous process of experimentation and business model development. A “lean startup” approach to building your business pairs an iterative, experimental approach to developing an in-depth understanding of your customers — and their needs and wants — with a fast, flexible approach to building your product. The idea is that you build as little of your product as possible, test it with real customers, then make quick tweaks and changes to the product, and repeat.

To communicate your scalable business model to potential investors and other audiences, you should maintain an up-to-date pitch or story you tell about your business. The physical manifestation of your pitch is a deck — usually 10 to 12 slides and no more — and as visual as you can make it.
More important than the physical deck, though, is really developing a great story to tell. After all, there’s going to be a lot of moments when you have the opportunity to pitch someone, but won’t happen to have your deck handy.

Every great story has a beginning, a middle and an end. The beginning is about setting the scene and introducing compelling characters to whom your audience can relate. The middle is about explaining a challenge that your main character faces. The end is about how your character resolves this problem in a Your pitch should unfold the same way. You need to start by explaining to investors who the user of your solution is. The more vivid a picture you can paint, the better. You then need to explain the incredibly frustrating or expensive problem that your user faces.
A combination of anecdotes or case studies — to make the problem seem real, with data to explain the size of the problem, is ideal. Finally, you need to end your pitch by showing how your solution solves this problem. And it’s really important that you do this in the simplest terms possible.
Finally, the epilogue to your story is explaining how you scale your business into a really big, interesting market.

HATUA ZA KUZINGATIA KTK KUANDAA MCHANGANUO WA BIASHARA KWA WAJASILIAMALI
Watu wengi hupenda kuandaa au kuanzisha biashara bila kufuata taratibu stahiki. Biashara yenye mafanikio ni ile iliyoanzishwa kwa taratibu za kitaalamu na kuandikiwa mchanganuo,japo wengi ufikiri mchanganua ni kwa ajiri ya kuchukulia mikopo, la hasha sio kweli mshanganuo ni dira na mwongozo. Kuna hatua tano za kupitia unapotaka kuandika au kuundaa mchanganuo wa biashara.
1. KUWA NA WAZO
Jambo la kwanza kabla ya yote unapotaka kuanza kufanya biashara au kuandika mchanganua wa biashara ni kuwa na wazo. Vijana wengi tuna ndoto za kufanya mambo mengi kwa wakati mmoja. Huwa tuna mawazo mengi kwa wakati mmoja ambayo hatuwezi kuyafanyia kazi,hivyo upelekea kukosa mwelekeo. Wengi utawasikia wakisema mtaji ndio kikwazo lakini kikwazo kikubwa sio mtaji pekee, kikwazo kinaweza kuwa ni WAZO, wazo sahihi ndio msingi mkuu katika kufanya ujasiliamali.Wazo linaweza kuwa la kuiga, kuboresha au jipya kabisa ambalo unafikilia kulifanyia kazi. “Miluzi mingi upoteza Mbwa” usemi unamaana sawa kabisa na kusema mawazo mengi hupoteza malengo,vijana wengi tuna mawazo mengi ambayo hatuwezi kuyafanyia kazi.
Kitu cha kwanza ni kuchuja mawazo mengi na kuchagua wazo moja au kuangalia lipi la kuanza nalo ,na kuangalia k**a linaweza kutekelezeka. “Screening Business Ideas” . Kuangalia k**a bidhaa au huduma inahitajika sehemu husika ?.Kuangalia kiwango cha ushindani wa biashara au huduma katika eneo husika.
Wengi huwa na mawazo mazuri lakini huyapanda katika mazingira yasiyo sahihi ambayo upelekea kushindwa kuzifanya biashara hizo, na hatimaye mawazo hayo kunyauka na kufa.
Mjasiliamali anapotaka kufanya biashara uchagua wazo moja lenye nguvu,ambalo linaweza kustawi katika mazingira husika, na kulipanda. Mtu mwenye mawazo mengi kwa wakati mmoja na yote anayafikiria kuyafanyia kazi kwa wakati mmoja, huyo sio mjasiliamali kwa kuwa ameshindwa kujiamini kwa kusimama na wazo moja.
2. UTAFITI WA SOKO
Kufanya utafiti wa soko la biashara ulioichagua kuifanya.Utafiti ni jambo la msingi sana kwa mjasiliamali kabla hajafungua biashara yake.Utafiti unahusisha kukusanya taarifa muhimu juu ya soko, mauzo ,usambazaji ,utangazaji wa bidhaa zitakazozalishwa.
Kujua ni aina gani ya wateja wako, kuzingatia Umri, jinsia,kipato chao, elimu yao,na dini zao. Mfano ni ajabu kwa mjasiliamali kuuza midoli kwenye jamii ambayo 95% ni watu wazima(Wazee). Ni ajabu kwa mjasiliamali kuuza majaketi ya baridi Dar es salaam, badala ya kupeleka Makambako,Iringa au Kilimanjaro.Kuna nguo ukienda kuuza Zanzibar soko lake ni finyu sana lakini nguo hizo hizo ukiuza Dar zitanunulika sana.Hapo namaanisha kuwa Zipo bidhaa ambazo zitakosa soko kwa kuwa umewapelekea jamii Fulani bila kuzingatia mambo hayo ya msingi . Hapo utakuwa umeanzisha biashara kwa kutofwata misingi ya kijasiliamali.
3. ENEO LA KUWEKEZA.
Wapi biashara iwekwe. Hili ni tatizo kubwa sana linalowakuta wajasiliamali.Kupata eneo ambalo unaweza kupata vyanzo vya uzalishaji “Factor of productions ”.Je kuna rasilimali, wafanyakazi,wateja,kiwango cha kodi, taasisi za kifedha nk. Je ni kuna miundo mbinu rafiki? . Je Teknolojia ni rafiki kwa aina ya biashara inayotaka kupandwa?.
4. UONGOZI/UTAWALA
Ili biashara iweze kusimama vyema inahitaji usimamizi mzuri. Usimamizi bora ndio chachu ya kufanikiwa katika biashara yoyote ile. Vitu vya kuzingatia ni kuwa na watu ambao wana ujuzi na moyo wa kufanya biashara hiyo.Wenye kuzingatia misingi ya kijasiliamali.Je una watu wa aina hiyo?
5. MCHANGANUO WA FEDHA
Baada ya mipango yote hapo ndipo tunaangalia pesa itapatikana wapi na itasimamiwa vipi. Ni mara chache sana kusikia mtu akizungumzia jinsi vyanzo vingine vinavyotakiwa kuzingatiwa kuliko mtaji. Ni kweli kuwa mtaji ni kitu muhimu lakini bila kuzingatia haya mengine mtaji utakua na faida gani. Watu wengi wanakimbilia kuchukua mitaji kwa ajili ya kuanzisha biashara zao ila ni wachache wanaofanikiwa kusimamisha biashara hizo.Hatima yao ni kupokonywa vitu vya dhamani ambavyo waliweka rehani. Ili uweze kufikiria mtaji inabidi uyafanyie kazi hayo mengine ya awali, hapo ndipo utajua ni kiasi gani cha mtaji kinachohitajika na ukisimamie vipi.
Katika mchanganua wa fedha unatakiwa uainishe chanzo cha mtaji,jinsi utavyoutumia huo mtaji kukamilisha malengo yako. Lazima kuweka taarifa za muhimu ambazo zitakuwa mwongozo katika kusimamia mtaji. Hilo ni jambo la msingi la kuzingatia kwa wajasiliamali.
6. FAIDA YA BIASHARA
Hakuna biashara inayofanywa bila kuzingatia faida. Faida ndio kiini na sababu ya kufanya biashara. Wajasiliamali wengi wanapoanza biashara hutegemea faida,lakini sio biashara zote zinatoa faida kwa wakati. Pia zipo biashara ambazo hazitoi faida hivyo zinapelekea kufungwa.
Kipimo cha matazamio ya biashara ni miezi takribani sita hivi k**a wanavyoshauri wataalamu. Baada ya hapo k**a hakuna faida inabidi urudi nyuma na kuangalia ni hatua ipi haijazingatiwa. Hapo ndipo mjasiliamali anatakiwa kujipanga pale atapofikiria kuanza kufanya biashara yake mwenyewe kwa kufuata misingi ya kijasiliamali.
Jambo kubwa na la msingi linaloleta ufanisi na mafanikio ni kuwa na MALENGO CHANYA. Haya humsaidia mjasiliamali kusimama imara hata akidondoka inakuwa rahisi kusimama tena na kusonga mbele.

FIKRA TANO ZINAZOUA MAFANIKIO KWA MJASILIAMALI NA JINSI YA KUZIEPUKA.

Mpaka sasa unajua kwamba tofauti kubwa ya watu waliofanikiwa na wasiofanikiwa inaanzia kwenye fikra zao. K**a bado hujajua ndio nakuwambia leo na nitakuambia mawazo ya aina tano ambayo yanaua kabisa mafanikio yako.

Tunajua kwamba kuwa na mawazo chanya ni kitu muhimu sana ili kufikia mafanikio. Hivyo kuepuka mawazo hasi ni hatua ya kwanza ya kufikia mafanikio. Ila mawazo ya aina tano tutakayokwenda kujifunz ahapa leo yanaweza yasionekane k**a ni hasi na ndio maana watu wengi wanashindwa kuyatambua mapema.

Kwa kujua mawazo haya na jinsi ya kuyaepuka itakuwa msaada sana kwako kufikia mafanikio.

1. Mimi sio mtaalamu.
Mara nyingi sana umekuwa ukitumia sababu hii kwamba unashindwa kufanya zaidi kwenye kazi yako au biashara yako kwa sababu huna utaalamu mkubwa. Sawa huenda ni kweli huna utaalamu mkubwa ila je unachukua hatua gani?
Kumbuka hakuna mtu aliyezaliwa na utaalamu wowote, vitu vyote tunajifunza hapa duniani. Hivyo k**a kuna utaalamu ambao unajua utakusaidia sana kwenye kazi au biashara zako anza kujifunza. Kwa bahati nzuri tunaishi kwenye dunia ambayo kujifunza sio lazima uende darasani, popote ulipo unaweza kujifunz ana kutendea kazi yale uliyojifunza na baada ya muda ukawa mtaalamu.

2. Hicho kimeshafanyika.
Kuna wakati ambapo unapata wazo zuri la kufanya kitu ambacho kitakufaidisha sana kwenye kazi au biashara. Ila unapofuatilia kwa makini unagundua kwamba kuna watu wengine tayari wanafanya. Kwa kuwa na mawazo ya aina hii unajiondoa mwenyewe kwenye safari ya mafanikio.
Hata k**a kitu kimefanyika na watu wengi kiasi gani, k**a ndio kitakachokusaidia kifanye. Ila wewe kifanye kwa utofauti na upekee ili uweze kunufaika zaidi. K**a kuna biashara unayotaka kufanya na ukakuta wengine wanaifanya unatakiwa kufurahi kwa sababu tayari una uhakika kwamba soko lipo, hivyo kazi yako ni kujua jinsi gani utavutia na kuwabakiza wateja kwenye biashara yako.

3. Sina ‘connection’
Ni kweli kabisa na pia nilishaandika kwamba haijalishi unajua nini bali unamjua nani, mafanikio yako yatategemea sana na watu unaojuana nao na walioko kwenye mtandao wako. Hivyo ni rahisi sana kuamini kwamba kwa kuwa hujuani na watu waliofanikiwa basi huwezi kufanikiwa.
Swali ni kwamba unataka watu waliofanikiwa waje wakutafute wewe? Wakutafute kwa sababu gani? Wewe ndio unatakiwa kuanzisha kitu hiki. Angalia ni watu gani ambao unahitaji kuwa nao kwenye mtandao wako, kisha angalia ni kitu gani unaweza kuwasaidia. Omba nafasi ya kuwasaidia kitu hiko na utakuwa umeanzisha connection muhimu sana kwako. Ndio watu wenye mafanikio ni vigumu sana kuwapata ila k**a kweli unataka kuwapata utafanikiwa kuwapata.

4. Sina Fedha.
Angalau hii ni sababu ambayo karibu kila mtu anaitumia wakati mmoja au mwingine. Kwa nini huanzi biashara, sina mtaji. Kwa nini biashara yako haikui, sina fedha. Kwa nini hujafikia mafanikio, sina fedha. Sawa huna fedha, swali ni je unataka nani aje akuletee fedha hapo ulipo? Hakuna, k**a unasubiri unapoteza muda wako bure. Anzia hapo ulipo, anza na ulichonacho. K**a unataka kuanza biashara anza na kiasi kidogo unachoweza kuanzia, endelea kukua na pale unapokuwa makini utaanza kuona fursa nyingi za kukuza biashara yako. Lakini k**a utasema huna fedha, huna mtaji na ukaendelea kulala, nakutakia usingizi mwema.

5. Nimejaribu sana lakini nashindwa.
Umesema nijifunze ili niwe mtaalamu, nimeshajifunza sana lakini siwezi.

JIBU; Bado hujajifunza vya kutosha, au haupo makini kwenye kujifunza kwako. Anza tena na jua ni nini hasa unachotaka. Usikate tamaa mpaka utakapofikia.
Umesema hata k**a kitu kimefanywa naweza kukifanya na nikafanikiwa, nimeshajaribu hivyo lakini napata hasara tu.

JIBU; Unafanya k**a kila mtu anavyofanya, weka ubunifu, jitofautishe, usiwe wa kawaida.
Unasema k**a nahitaji connection nianze mimi kutafuta yule ninayetaka connection yake, nimejaribu sana, nimeenda ofisini kwa mtu niliyetaka kupata connection yake masecretary wamenizuia, wameniambia niandike barua na nieleze shida zangu nitapewa wa kunisaidia ila sio yule ninayemtaka.

JIBU; Ongeza juhudi, badili mbinu za kuweza kumpata mtu huyo, anza kufikiria ni jinsi gani unaweza kumsaidia, mwandikie kila unachofikiri kitamfanya atake kujua ni nani amempa mawazo hayo mazuri. Wakati huo huo kuwa bora kwenye kile unachokifanya, watu watakuongelea na moja kwa moja utapata nafasi ya kuonana na waliofanikiwa zaidi.
Unasema nianze kidogo hata k**a mtaji sina, hata hicho kidogo sina, nilijaribu kuanz akidogo nimepata hasara na sasa sina hata pa kuanzia.

JIBU; K**a huna hata kidogo cha kuanzia kuna uwezekano mkubwa hujui unachotaka kufanya. K**a ulianza kidogo na umeshindwa, anza tena, ndio safari ya mafanikio ilivyo.
Hizo ndio fikra tano za kuondokana nazo ili uweze kufikia mafanikio. Kumbuka pamoja na yote haya maamuzi yanabaki kwenye mikono yako. Ukiamua kuyatumia haya kwenye maisha yako, utakuwa kwenye nafasi nzuri ya kufanikiwa. Ukiamua kuachana nayo utaendelea hivyo ulivyo.
