The idea of a local community rests upon two principles: neighborhood and subsistence. Our mission is to embrace
a set of shared values and principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, and environmental practices. It is a fact that every community wants to grow its local economy and achieve greater prosperity. We believe that fair, safe and humane working conditions are an effective approach to reducing poverty. All KIT work is based on a bottom-up approach in identification, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. We have recognized that ideal innovations and interventions are those based on the individuals’ own local initiatives. As social entrepreneurs we identify and act upon what others overlook. We give opportunities to improve systems, develop solutions, and invent new approaches. The social and environmental value creation is vital in our businesses. For us it is important to spread awareness of academia, international organizations, charities, companies, corporations and individuals in Tanzania. We want our communities to better understand the phenomenon of social entrepreneurship and to replicate and scale some of the new models and processes for value creation. All our business models, reinvestments and practices are guided by KIT Code of Conduct, policies and objectives.
