Analysts at The Wall Street Journal shared information about Apple's promising developments that may appear in the company's new smartwatch. In particular, the devices will receive a built-in tonometer, the ability to measure temperature and other innovations, according to 4pda.
Apple plans to add to the functionality of the device the ability to measure blood pressure without the use of a special cuff. The American company has been working on this technology for at least five years - the first patents describing a portable tonometer date back to 2016. According to insiders, Apple is ready to implement such a solution in its smartwatch.
The watch can also receive a body temperature sensor, as well as the possibility of a more detailed analysis of blood oxygen levels to diagnose a disorder such as apnea, in which a person experiences breathing problems during sleep.
One of the most promising features, which will have to wait the longest, will be the ability to monitor blood glucose levels through non-invasive monitoring. It is noted that Apple continues to develop this technology, but the company has not yet reached the stage of its introduction into commercial devices.
