Empty experiences
Do you worry a lot about nonsense?
A well-known psychotherapist in one of his books suggests answering the following question in detail. If you knew death was coming soon, what would you want to change right now?
What if tomorrow is the last day? What will you do, what will you refuse, who will you call when you realize that there will be no second chance?
Empty experiences are something that every sick person regrets, who knows that his life will end soon. The relatives of the passing away face the same - this is called existential experience.
Anxiety is a rather meaningless state. It seems that it helps prepare for an emergency, but in fact it only devours strength and nerve cells.
Don't waste your resources on empty experiences. Always remember: while you are alive, nothing is over yet, everything can be changed.
At least just stop worrying about what the neighbors thought, that a colleague would bypass you for a promotion, or replay the conversation with your boss, guessing if he understood you correctly and what he meant.
Everything that distracts, transfers the resource from the place where it is eaten by anxiety, to the place where it can be spent on at least something useful.
In the moment of anxiety, switch to activity, physically do at least something. After all, as Sherlock Holmes said: "Work is better than a cure for stress."
