Dog in the museum

One day a dog ran into a museum filled with mirrors.

The museum was unique: the walls, ceiling, doors and even the floor were mirrored. Seeing all this, the dog froze in surprise in the middle of the hall.

She looked at a whole flock of dogs that surrounded her from all sides, from above and below.

When the dog bared its teeth and barked, all the other dogs reacted in the same way. The frightened dog continued to bark furiously, and the reflections imitated her, not ceasing to grin and make noise.

The dog barked even louder, but the echo only intensified. She darted from side to side, while the reflections also darted, snapping her teeth.

The next morning, museum workers found an unhappy exhausted dog on the floor surrounded by the reflections of thousands of exhausted dogs.

No one hurt her, but she fell unconscious from the endless struggle with her own reflections and fears.

The parable of meaningless labor

Once a hunter walked through the forest, tired and happy, with heavy prey in his bag. The hunt was a success today. Suddenly he heard the measured sound of a saw nearby. I went to him - and saw a woodcutter. Exhausted, tense, he barely wielded the saw, now and then wiping sweat from his forehead.

The hunter decided to come closer and find out why the work is proceeding with such a colossal effort and so slowly. He came up and saw that the tool was not sawing it, but wasted moving along the trunk.

- Your saw is completely dull! - exclaimed the hunter, - why don't you stop and sharpen it properly?

The woodcutter stopped, wiped the sweat from his forehead again, sighed heavily:

- What do you mean, when to do this? I do not have a single free minute, today I have to cut another 15 trees.

And the woodcutter set to work again.
