RESIDENTS OF IRPIN, 26 KM FROM KYIV, ARE LEAVING THE CITY THOUGHT THE DAMAGED BRIDGE

One of the most comfortable suburbs of Kyiv – the city of Irpin – today is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. Many residential buildings have been damaged by air strikes of Russian military air force, there is a lack of stable electricity and water supply, and there is a significant shortage of food and basic necessities.

In Irpin, the evacuation of the city's population was announced – the railway was identified as a priority transport. However, the evacuation by trains failed due to the damage of the railway by the Russian occupiers. Now, citizens are trying to leave the city through the damaged bridge.

Residents of Irpin, which were hitting by large-scale strikes, hastily leave the destroyed city. The Ukrainian defenders are helping the townspeople by assisting them and guiding through the ruins.

According to the mayor Oleksandr Markushin: “Children and elderly people had to be evacuated from the city by trains, but due to the damage of the railway track by an enemy, it became impossible. Then people were asked to move to another place, where they were to be picked up by buses for transportation outside the city".

Evacuation of people from the city is still going on.

Many Ukrainian cities that have fallen victim of the Russian aggression are in a similar situation today.
