10.Make it count. If you do plan to use a high credit limit to the maximum and allow your credit to take the hit, make it count. Since you won’t be able to receive approvals for other cards while your utilization rate is high, ensure you choose a card that’ll provide you the most benefit. Look for generous welcome bonuses, lengthy 0% introductory APR periods and great benefits. Consider which rewards and benefits will provide the longest-lasting value.

9.Most issuers won’t publish maximum credit limits. You won’t know what credit limit you’ll be approved for until after you receive the approval. This means you must apply and receive any hits hard inquiries might have on your credit report. Try to reduce the number of applications you complete by selecting only the cards you truly want—don’t take a shotgun approach to high-limit card applications. The more applications you send, the less likely you’ll be to receive an approval, as the number of recent inquiries is a factor for consideration for many lenders.

4.American Express® Business Gold Card
[ jump to details ]
The American Express® Business Gold Card (terms apply, see rates and fees) offers no preset credit limit, so for those businesses that qualify the card offers the flexibility of a credit limit that adapts based on the purchase, payment and credit history of the account. With “don’t have to think about it” style rewards and a solid welcome offer, this card makes a great option for businesses that need a more flexible credit limit.

Rewards: 4 Membership Rewards® points per dollar on the 2 select categories where a business spends the most each month. 1 point per dollar is earned for other purchases. The 4 point per dollar earning rate applies to the first $150,000 in combined purchases from the 2 eligible categories each calendar year

Welcome Offer: 70,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $10,000 on eligible purchases within the first 3 months of opening an account

Annual Fee: $295

Other Benefits and Drawbacks: With travel protections such as baggage insurance, no foreign transaction fees and emergency assistance plus a feature that returns 25% of the points you use when you book eligible flights with Amex Travel up to 250,000 points back per calendar year, this card isn’t light on the benefits.

It also offers the ability to pay eligible balances over time with interest (though we don’t recommend carrying balances on credit cards when it can be avoided). The American Express® Business Gold Card offers a solid benefits package for its high annual fee.
