Breaking: Ukraine strikes Russia's military-industrial complex; Flamingo in Cheboksary, fire in the Baltic

While additional air defense is rolling through the streets of Moscow and creating a television picture, a real fireworks display took place in Cheboksary, writes Kirill Danilchenko for LB media outlet. In principle, the logic is ironclad: what happened 70 years ago in our grandfathers' time has more impact on the current situation on the front than anything else. And if the Kremlin chooses a grand show, then we are interested in continuing to work on their military-industrial complex, Obozrevatel media outlet says. This is the fifth wave of attacks since the summer of 2025 on the VNDIR-Progress JSC enterprise, but this time they used Flamingo cruise missiles, whereas previously they worked exclusively with drones. The fifth approach to a strategically important enterprise that produces Comet navigation modules and satellite signal receivers directly blocks the scaling of the enemy's long arm. "The video clearly shows that the administrative building is on fire, and a powerful explosion occurred directly in the area of the Comet adaptive array workshop. It is these boards that allow Russian to ignore our electronic warfare and resist it. I think that communications, pipes, delicate electrical equipment, microelectronics machines, and cranes in the area up to 150 meters have become very bad.
Anyone who doesn't believe in the density of the damage can look at what the blast wave did to the facade of the giant MTV Center shopping mall opposite the plant. The ridiculous stories about "just one hit" by the Flamingo, which are currently being shared by the alternatively gifted on Facebook, mean that the enemy is in critical pain, and we are in an internal war over budgets and orders around these missiles. Let's throw away our illusions: neither the elongated Neptune nor our other serial means of delivery to Cheboksary (1,000 km away) and the Iskander assembly shops have yet to reach it. And ballistics has yet to go beyond pre-series test batches. It's not fast, even with EU money and resources — the first European countries are still increasing the annual production of the same Storm Shadows they mastered back in the 2000s by 30-40%, not by hundreds of units", expert adds. To date, we have at least seven successful and proven applications of this product. FSB border post near Armyansk: Direct hit on headquarters and hovercraft parking lot.
Communications hub, antenna control group destroyed, and watercraft damaged. Damage in the millions of dollars, temporary loss of coordination in the area. Kapustin Yar Test Site in Astrakhan Region: Workshop No. 28 and boiler room of facility No. 105 were hit. The schedule for testing new missile systems was disrupted.
Arsenal GRAU in Kotluban: A jewel-like breakthrough of a reinforced concrete bunker with an area of 1200 m2. The large-scale detonation vaporized thousands of tons of ammunition. This is tens of millions of dollars of direct damage due to shells that did not reach the enemy artillery at the front. Votkinsky Plant in Udmurtia: A strike on a strategic enterprise producing strategic ballistics. Workshop No. 22 was hit. Result: direct braking of the assembly line for the production of new Iskanders.
Promsintez Chemical Plant in Chapayevsk: Two
"gingerbread men" flew right under the walls of workshop No. 3. The production of industrial explosives and ammunition components has been paralyzed. "Skif" plant in Belgorod: Direct hit on production site. According to satellite data, the roof and ceilings that were blown away have not been repaired yet. VNIIR "Progress" in Cheboksary: Minus of the navigation department. In parallel, there were reports of strikes on the KINEF oil refinery in the Leningrad region on May 5, 2026. It is too early to speak about the final damage, but, according to thermal anomaly maps, a huge red-orange fire spot is located right in the heart of the plant's technological zone. This is the area of primary oil processing plants, cracking and complex technological columns. They hit not the fuel oil tanks, which can be quickly extinguished, but the most expensive iron.

“🇺🇦🔥 213 kill marks & counting — Ukraine’s PZL M28 is the world’s first drone-hunting aircraft.”

📍 Ukraine — A modified Soviet-era An-28 (Polish PZL M28) is now launching P1‑SUN interceptor drones from underwing pylons to ram Russian Shaheds out of the sky. Developed by Ukrainian firm SkyFall, each interceptor costs as little as $1,000. The aircraft has also downed 222 drones with its door-mounted Minigun and carries an optical system to hunt targets at night. It’s a homemade air‑to‑air revolution.

👇 Could this cheap, airborne interceptor system change the future of drone warfare?

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova claimed that Europe is turning into a concentration camp over the promised “conversation” with the Prime Minister of Slovakia regarding his trip to Moscow.

“There would have been no Europe Day without the victory of the Soviet people. There would have been one giant concentration camp with gas chambers instead. Although no matter how much you save them, they reorganize themselves into a concentration camp from any position,” Zakharova said.

Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that he intends to speak with Robert Fico regarding his visit to Moscow.

🇺🇦💥 Reports indicate Ukrainian drones carried out a significant strike on a Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) facility in occupied Crimea. The operation reportedly caused extensive damage to the site, disrupting key infrastructure used for intelligence and security operations in the region.
Explosions and fires were observed at the compound, highlighting the reach of long-range unmanned systems in targeting rear-area assets. This incident adds to ongoing patterns of strikes on military and security infrastructure across contested territories.
Both sides continue active operations amid the complex conflict, with logistics, intelligence, and supply lines remaining critical factors. Independent observers note the evolving role of drone technology in modern warfare, affecting operational capabilities on multiple fronts.
The situation in Crimea remains tense with developments monitored closely by regional actors. As always, information from conflict zones requires careful verification from multiple sources.

A Ukrainian flag was recovered intact from the ruins of the "Mezhyvskyy Merydian" newspaper office in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The editorial building was destroyed by a Russian guided aerial bomb in March, but editor-in-chief Yevhen Khrypun found the flag undamaged during a recent visit to the site.
