The transport sector long-term development objectives in Ukraine are set in the National Transport Strategy until 2020. This document was approved by the Government of Ukraine on 20 October, 2010 and it covers all transport sub-sectors: air, road, railway, sea and river transport and cross-cutting issues such as environment, energy efficiency and safety of humans in the transport sector. It also p

rovides a framework for the implementation of the necessary reforms in the Ukrainian transport sector that currently employs app. 415,000 people. EU funded project “Support to the Implementation of the Transport Strategy of Ukraine” was launched on 17 April, 2012 as to assist the Ministry of Infrastructure in carrying out necessary reforms that would cater for the approximation of the Ukrainian transport system to the EU standards.
