The UNITED24 MODE Summit brought together everyone behind one of the war's most moving stories — the journey of 2 Ukrainian defenders from russian captivity to the edge of the world.
Valeria 'Nava' Subotina shared how her dream of going to Antarctica helped her survive captivity, when almost no hope was left. Together with her fellow defender Maria 'Gerda' Chekh, who also survived Azovstal and captivity, they made it to Antarctica — thanks to UNITED24 ambassador NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly, FUTURE of SPACE, and Activitis.
Konstantin Zhukovsky, founder and shareholder of the fintech infrastructure Activitis, which has been an operational donor to UNITED24 since 2023, also shared his emotions about this story. It was Activitis that funded the journey.
Thank you to everyone who helps UNITED24 make Ukrainian dreams come true. And especially to those whose dreams are born in the darkest of moments and survive with them.
