I often hear the phrase: We need a cool salesperson!
"I need someone who can sell snow in Antarctica, sand in the desert... » and so on.
Often, at the same time, the authors of the inquiry (there are those who come to our marketing agency) admit that they do not have:
❌ Strategies for business development
❌ proper marketing
❌ sales systems
❌ interaction between the production and the above-mentioned departments.
❌ end-to-end analytics, but what's their end-of-end analytics at all
❌ the site has not been updated for 5 years and some freelancers lost access to this site
📞 At the same time, you need a sales beast, who can make plans and not be afraid of complex tasks
I am a marketer, not a salesperson. But I always have a question in such cases:
❓Is it really the problem of such a business in the absence of a persistent salesperson?
Let's recall a time when someone cool sold us a product or service.
As a rule:
✅ These people understood your needs and pains.
✅ They knew when you would need their products.
✅ They clearly realized who their target client was (thanks to marketing research CustDev, Preference Map, JTBD)
✅You've heard of this brand before, seen their ads on websites, in social networks, heard it on the radio.
✅Thanks to a well-designed marketing strategy, the most
promotional activities were planned, which provided the necessary trust and recognition of the brand before the sale stage.
❗️It is important to understand that sales are not something that happens during a 5-minute insistent phone call.
!! Sales is a system of integrated interaction between potential customers and the brand, from advertising to after-sales service.
The foundation of future successful sales is laid brick by brick:
✔️Target Request Ranking
✔️Response to Internet reviews, site structure and clarity
✔️ Response speed by phone.
✔️Tone and professionalism of managers' communication, etc.
👉A well-built marketing system, a thoughtful sales funnel, and in-depth and predictive analytics - all shape successful sales. The basis of business success is systematic work, not external persistence or a salesman's charm.
