With the arrival of the New Year, we at Akkerman Solutions experienced a big change. The Ukrainian software company Free UA was acquired by Akkerman Solutions by the first of January 2025.
Akkerman Solutions has over the years been working together with Free UA on several projects, and always with great results and with a great teamwork. The last couple of years, Thomas Sillesen had considered acquiring Free UA, as it would make a great addition to the Akkerman Solutions team, and significantly strengthen our Software Division.
The owner of Free UA Artem Martynov and Thomas Sillesen met up for a long talk in Kyiv in December, and it was clear, they were totally aligned on how to move forward together. So the conclusion did not take long, and by the first of January FreeUA is now a part of Akkerman Solutions. Artem Martynov naturally took the lead of the Akkerman Solutions Software Division.
Artem Martynov is a skilled leader and entrepreneur with extensive experience in building and managing software development teams and business operations. He holds a degree in International Economic Relations from Zaporizhzhya National University and has been managing IT projects and businesses since 2013. Artem successfully led FreeUA, delivering complex software solutions for international clients, ensuring high-quality results, timely delivery, and seamless integration with clients’ existing systems. His expertise includes strategic planning, team leadership, workflow optimization, and fostering innovation in software development. As the Head of the Akkerman Solutions Software Division, Artem is committed to driving excellence and delivering value to clients.

When we started our business in Ukraine in 2013, our first employee was a software developer, and our first customer was in Software. Over the years, our mechanical engineering has grown significantly, becoming our main business leg. With this addition in Software, we now have 2 business areas that are roughly similar in size, and both are definitely world-class.
In order to dedicate fully to each of these business areas, we have made Divisions, so that our customers speak directly with competent managers for each Division. Our administration, HR and Sales are shared, thereby reducing our cost base, which naturally results in our pricing being very competitive. However, our main selling points are still Quality, Delivery in time, Innovations when needed, Excellent communication and honesty.
