On Thursday, August 19, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) calculated the following official hryvnia exchange rate against major foreign currencies:
1 US dollar - UAH 26.65;
1 euro - UAH 31.24;
1 zloty - UAH 6.85;
10 Russian rubles - UAH 3.62.
Compared with yesterday's values, the dollar fell by three cents. On the previous banking day, the "green" rose by exactly the same amount. And in a week - from 12 to 19 August - the hryvnia strengthened against the US currency by 15 kopecks. Experts believe that the dollar will soon return to the mark of 27 hryvnia.The euro fell immediately by 14 kopecks after rising by two kopecks the day before. In general, the euro is at its lowest level since mid-summer 2020.
The cost of 10 Russian rubles fell by a penny. The Polish zloty fell by three kopecks.The official dollar exchange rate is calculated based on indicators in the interbank foreign exchange market, but with some lag. On Wednesday, August 18, the value of the currency on the interbank market decreased:
The dollar fell by seven cents in buying and selling. The US currency before the end of trading was worth 26.61 / 26.63 UAH (purchase / sale).
Eurocurrency fell in price by 12 kopecks in buying and 17 - in selling. Prior to the close, the euro was trading at UAH 31.18 / 31.20 (purchase / sale).
