World Radiography day 8-Nov, 127 years still counting, radiation for better health, we are imaging the world.

Almost 31 years ago, my brother
who was addicted to playing football one day fell during a football match and injured his wrist. After two to three days his wrist joint was swollen and painful. I was sent to es**rt him to hospital for an X-ray. Yes the setup of the X-ray room was awesome with gigantic exotic looking equipments it was admirable for young chaps then. After the X-ray was done the doctor said my brother had a fracture on the wrists... When I inquired to see exactly which part was broken unfortunately he pointed at the epiphysis aka the growth plate of the distal radius, being lay we had no objection they asked me to pay 25k for POP casting (plaster of Paris). Which I paid and the POP casting was done, the doctor said I should bring him back for the POP removal after 3 weeks which actually we didn't go back because we had a tool which could cut the cast off from home. I remember when we reached home and people asked how the X-ray machine looked like my brother said its a big machine almost the size of a Sahara pickup truck that was his description. I kept the X-ray films in my paper files. Years later after after graduating from medical school one day I landed on the same X-ray film when I was sorting outing papers. I decided to review the X-ray image myself and I realized my brother never had a fracture the doctor actually pointed at the epiphysis as a fracture, either to take our money for casting or he didn't know how to interpret the X-ray images. So he was misdiagnosed but the doctors have been forgiven already.
Years later I realized, I was able to own this big equipment my brother described it as a big equipment almost the size of a Sahara pickup truck to part of my equipment collections. what you see at the background is what we call the X-ray machine, uses electromagnetic spectrum, to image the internal body parts for medical diagnosis and treatment purposes.... The X-ray photons have high energy, they pe*****te solid material, they ionize air, they have high frequency and low wave length and they travel in straight line.
