Conflict at home

The primary conflict parties I'll be focusing on are my three younger siblings and I. I am the first born, 2 years older than the 2nd born, 6 years older than the third and 12 years older than the fourth.

The first conflict issue is authority from time to time, the second issue is personal space.

Our relationship is calmest when we want something or when one of us wants something and the other stands to benefit by accommodating the other. Basically our conflict rates are relative to the process of us individually looking for common ground individually also depending on mood and how we see each other.

The number 1 cause of conflict is when we invade each others' personal space. The second one is when we want different things and we refuse to compromise losing this so that the other can gain what they want.

Currently we do well separately and as the oldest(leader of the party) I make the most sacrifice and taken on the most mentorship. I let my younger siblings hash things out while I take an underdogs position. I try to speak their language to familiarize myself with them and this mitigates conflict and we've resolved that authority should be shared and divided fitting the circumstances.

Conflict in perspective

I would describe conflict as a fundamental human characteristic spawned by our individual or collective differences situated at the root of all our physical or mental altercations.

Conflict is experienced in life when a person or people respond to the aforementioned circumstances in a bid to establish a dominant stance in the prevailing context. This can happen amidst 1 to infinity parties.

Conflict varies in stages namely; contemplative, interactive and finally decisive stage. For example one becomes conscious of an alterity from self to other party. Then he expresses this alterity with party both compliant and defiant. Then the decisive stage where the decision to compromise, dominate, assimilate or tolerate is taken (person-idea relative). Alterity is a constant. Conflict is a process while violence is an outcome as reflected in the latter thesis. Conflict is fluid while violence is fixed, multilateral Vs unilateral. Eg amongst academics Vs terrorists and soldiers, logic Vs emotion, fiction Vs reality, in all shades and walks of life.
