Happy Mother’s Day, my love…

It amazes me that there are 10 children under your care… and somehow you nurture and love each one individually.

You constantly show up, even when it’s hard… doctor appointments, dentists, braces and glasses… neurology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy… schoolwork, playdates, activities… you are always giving.

There’s no one person who sees everything you carry… but there are so many people who are grateful for you.

You create a home the kids genuinely love being in.

You teach them how to work hard… how to hustle… how to care.

You teach me how to be a better father.

You’ve created an environment of faith, grace, and forgiveness in our home… and that shapes all of us every single day.
Oh and options!! Hahaha

We are a family that loves to travel, learn and grow… that comes from you… I’ve heard travel and experiences are better than therapy!

The kids are lucky to have you, babes… and so am I.

My valentine-

Yesterday, you opened Brighter Day Clinic and quietly changed the story of mental health in Uganda. You didn’t just launch a clinic… you pioneered hope in a place that desperately needs it. That’s who you are… you don’t talk about change, you build it.

You founded a nonprofit that has tangibly changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. Real impact. Real dignity. Real transformation. I’ve watched you step into gaps most people walk past, especially with children… mothering more than anyone I know, and still finding room in your heart for even more.

You’re creative in a way that reshapes spaces and people. No room looks the same after you’ve been in it. Your design doesn’t just look beautiful… it creates peace. The Airbnb in Uganda is proof… your creativity makes space for rest, freedom, and restoration.

You’re a communicator with clarity and courage. Yesterday you stood before leaders of Jinja… politicians, musicians, and public figures… and spoke with vision. You carry authority without force. People listen because you speak with truth. And have LIVED it! Oh and when you speak things happen

You’re an adventure. Where others see risk, you see possibility. You greet the world with a smile… even when it greets you back with a buffalo. (Yes, that actually happened.) Your courage expands my world. YEP People I’m way more fearful than Asher)

2016 feels like a lifetime ago.
I was standing on a lot of platforms back then. I’ve learned a great deal since.

Here are five lessons that have stayed with me:
1. Platforms matter—but only if you use them well.
Being in front of people with a clear message is powerful. Visibility creates opportunity, but only when it’s intentional.
2. A platform does not equal success.
Standing on a stage can look impressive, but it doesn’t automatically mean impact, sustainability, or health.
3. Leadership requires consistency.
One of the harder lessons for me was learning to be the same person on and off the platform. Credibility is built in private long before it’s seen in public.
4. Surround yourself with people who see you, not the platform.
You need voices around you who aren’t impressed by stages or titles—people who will tell you the truth and keep you grounded.
5. With the right strategy, platforms can truly serve the mission.
Through experience, evaluation, and a lot of learning, I’ve taken what worked—and what didn’t—and built it into how we now help others maximise reach and grow their mission with integrity.

Still learning. Still refining. Grateful for the journey.
