Excellent lesson learnt from one of the most inspiring African businessmen /philanthropists, Econet’s founder and chairman, Strive Masiyiwa :
One day when I came back from school as a boy, my mother asked me to join her at a local market to sell second-hand clothes so we could meet a shortfall on my school fees. Her business had been going through a really rough time and we simply had no money.
I felt so embarrassed and hoped some of the kids would not see us.
“Strive, you will have to learn to stoop, before you can conquer," my mother told me after seeing my discomfort.
So many people fail, not because they don’t know what to do, but they have too much pride to cross the valley before their mountain of victory….
