MY WEEKEND INSIGHTS
*Use This Lockdown To Prepare For a Post Corona Recession.*
Sabiiti Herbert
Throughout the week, i've been thinking about different plans most of us had at the beginning of the year of our Lord 2020, and then James 4:13-15 twinkled in my mind. _“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business, and make a profit.” You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.”…_
We should always have this in mind that God has the ultimate authority over this world.
By this, i don't mean we should not plan, as a matter of fact my post is to encourage each one of us to use this lockdown to strategize for the post covid19 recession.
Proverbs 16:3 says “Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be achieved”. Imagine if you do not have a plan, what are you going to commit to God?
What should we do then?
*1. Employees*
It was reported last week that over 6.5 million people filed for unemployment benefits in USA. In Uganda we do not have such benefits and many people are likely to or have already lost jobs due to Covid-19 effect.
Every one who has attended my training class knows this to be my everyday song… _*“You ought to consistently be of high value to an organization, a rare specie that everyone would be looking for”*_
If you've not received a termination letter yet, spend this time reviewing your performance before the boss/superior does that. Spend time strategizing for your organization. Send an email or call to your supervisor with viable brilliant/feasible ideas. Bosses are also trying to figure out what to do, can you be a solution? Sleep less during this lockdown and do this with intention, may be you will thank me later.
2. Work on your credit worthiness
Do not make this Corona sit
