Tips on Cleaning your Kitchen!
Clean Your Kitchen
1. Clear The Decks!

Put away all of the items that belong in the kitchen but are not in their proper place. Then move on to gathering all the items that do NOT belong in the kitchen. Put all these items into a basket to be put away later (or if you have a helper, enlist their help with this.) Do not stop working on the kitchen to take these misplaced items to their homes.

2. Start At The Sink

Put all of the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Run a sink of hot, soapy water then drop in things that need soaking like the microwave turntable, the dish drainer, or large pans and bowls.

3. Spray Countertops and Stovetop

Use an all purpose cleaner and spray surfaces liberally. Let the cleaner do it’s work while you move on.

4. Empty The Refrigerator

Well, not completely. Toss anything that is expired and throw the dirty food containers in the sink full of soapy water. Working from top to bottom, wipe down the shelves with a rag sprayed with all-purpose cleaner.

5. Start At The Top

Knocking dirt and debris onto the floor is OK because you’re going to be sweeping it all up later. Use a long-handled duster and work your way around the entire perimeter of the room. Clean the corners, the light fixtures, and the tops of the cabinets. Don’t forget the top of the refrigerator. When you’ve worked your way back to where you started, you’re ready to move on.

6. Wipe Down Upper Cabinets & Clean Microwave

Set a wet sponge in the microwave and “cook” for 2 minutes. While the microwave is doing it’s work, dip a rag in the warm, soap water and use it to wipe down the doors and pulls of the upper cabinets and anything else on the wall as you circle the room. The sponge in the microwave should be cool enough to handle now. Use it to wipe down the inside and outside of the microwave.

7. Wipe Down Countertops and Stovetop

Now that the cleaner has had a chance to work, wipe down the horizontal surfaces. Again, just let dust, crumbs, etc. fall to the floor because you’ll get it later. Add a little baking soda for stubborn stains. For granite countertops use my Homemade Granite Cleaner. For stainless steel surfaces, use my Stainless Steel Cleaner.

8. Clean Vertical Surfaces of Appliances

Use another rag dipped in the warm soapy water to wipe down the front of the refrigerator, dishwasher and oven. Pay close attention to handles and outside edges. (Use my Stainless Steel Cleaner or vinegar diluted with water for stainless steel appliances.)

9. Wipe Down Lower Cabinet Doors & Drawers

Once again, a rag dipped in warm, soapy water will do the job.

Clean Your Kitchen
10. Finish Dishes and Clean Sink

Place the items that have been soaking in the sink into the dishwasher or wash by hand. Drain the sink and rinse with hot water. Clean the basin with a mild abrasive like baking soda, or if you need a little more power, I like Bar Keepers Friend. Rinse with hot water again. Wipe down the faucet and handles with a microfiber cloth.

Clean Your Kitchen
11. Empty The Trash

Give the inside of the can a quick wipe down with a wet rag before replacing the bag.

Clean Your Kitchen
12. Sweep & Mop The Floor

Using a broom or a dry duster, get right up to the baseboards, under the cabinets and into the corners. Pull out appliances if necessary. Follow up with a mop or steam cleaner. Start at the farthest corner from the entrance to the room. If using a mop, be sure to use a bucket. You don’t want to contaminate your clean sink. Dump the dirty water outside or in the toilet.

Clean Your Kitchen

Now it’s time to congratulate yourself on a job well done! Grab a cold beverage of your choice and relax…you’ve earned it!!

A Few Extra Tips:

Make cleaning up the kitchen a family affair. Divide the steps between your family members, and you really can have the kitchen done in a short time.
Train your family members to clear and rinse their own plates after each meal. This simple act takes little time for each person, but saves so much time for the dish person later.
Run a sink of hot soapy water before food preparation begins. As mixing bowls, cutting boards, knives, etc, become dirty, quickly wash them up to prevent food from drying and sticking. It will take the stress out of cooking and you won’t be left with a pile of dirty dishes when you’re done!

Cleaning your bath Tub and Tiles.
Shut the door and run the hot water for a few minutes to steam up the bathroom and loosen dirt. Wipe down the tub and all tiles with a scrub brush and an all-purpose cleaner. If your grout is stained, rub in some baking soda using a dry grout brush, then rinse.

Keeping your toothbrush clean!!!

Rinse it:

The easiest way to keep your toothbrush clean is to rinse it with hot water (hot water cleans and kills germs easier) before and after brushing. Use your thumb and move it back and forth against the bristles while underneath or in water. It is important to do it before brushing as well as after because airborne bacteria or other particles such as dust may have settled on the toothbrush since your last brushing.
Dry it

The bacteria that cause gum diseases are anaerobic. That means they live in a low oxygen environment and these bacteria are killed by exposure to air. The simple act of letting your toothbrush dry between brushing will kill many bacteria. Do not store your toothbrush in a covered container where it does not receive adequate ventilation. Also the bristles usually come in contact with the walls of a closed container and that will contaminate the toothbrush unless the toothbrush container was just cleaned.
Store it upright

Storing your toothbrush upright (bristles up, handle down) after use is very important. This allows the water to drain from the bristles easier and all the water and particles collect at the bottom of the handle of the toothbrush. Also you may notice that a nasty scum collects at the bottom of containers that do not have a drain at the bottom, and you do not want your bristles touching that scum that could cause your bristles to collect mold and bacteria.

CLEANING YOUR TOILET SPARKLING CLEAN WITH NISS CLEAN CONSULT :

Cleaning a toilet is a task that often gets postponed, but it's essential to keep toilets clean. A dirty toilet will look bad, smell bad and breed germs. However, as with many of life's less pleasant tasks, cleaning your toilet now can save you headaches later. With these instructions, you'll get through this task quickly and efficiently.
1. Put on clean gloves. Use a dedicated pair of waterproof rubber gloves to clean your toilet. Toilets can be a haven for bacteria - you'll want to keep your hands as clean and dry as possible when you're cleaning yours.
• Keep these gloves separate from your other gloves. It's handy to buy your toilet gloves in a different color than your other rubber gloves - you don't accidentally want to mistake them for your dish-washing gloves.

2. Wipe down the toilet with a damp sponge. It can be handy to give your toilet an initial once-over with hot water. While you're cleaning the rest of the toilet, this will sink in, loosening up dirt and grime and making your later efforts easier. Moisten a sponge with hot water and wipe around the tank, lid, seat, base, and exterior of the bowl. Often, this will be enough to completely remove dirt without the need for special cleaning products.

3. Apply toilet cleaner to the inside of the bowl. Specially-formulated toilet cleaners can help you eliminate stains, rings, and mineral deposits in your toilet. Sq**rt or dab cleaner on the inside of the rim of the bowl, allowing it to drip down the sides of the bowl and into the water. It's important to apply cleaner to the inside of the bowl's rim - this area is often ignored, which can lead to gross brown mineral buildup along the rim.
• Read the manufacturer's instructions for the cleaner you use. Many cleaners work best if you allow them to soak into the bowl before proceeding. If so, take a short break before the next step.
4. Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush. Using a firm-bristled toilet brush, scrub the entire bowl thoroughly, paying special attention to any mineral stains that may accumulate along the water level and at the back of the bowl. The more thoroughly (and firmly) you scrub the bowl, the cleaner it will get.
• Make the most of your toilet cleaner - since it's accumulated in the water at the bottom of the bowl, dip your brush in it a few times to work up some suds, which will give your scrubbing extra cleaning power.
5.Flush the toilet. Flushing rinses the bowl and the brush. Continue to scrub as the water drains from the toilet, as the motion of the water may not be enough to rinse all of the dirt away.
• If you have persistent stains, repeat the cycle of applying toilet cleaner, allowing it to sit if needed, scrubbing, and flushing until the stain is removed.

How to quickly tidy up your sitting/ living room.

• Get everything out of the room that doesn’t belong there. Use an extra laundry basket or a similar-sized container to gather up all the “stuff” that has accumulated in the room but should not be there. If you are in a real hurry to get the room looking more presentable (like company is expected), put the basket somewhere out of sight and deal with it later. Otherwise, take a few minutes now and carry the basket with you as you move from room to room returning everything to its proper place.
• Put everything that belongs in the room back where it belongs. This would include books back on the shelves, toys back in the toy box, items back in drawers, etc. Start in one area and work your way around the room.
• Do a quick dusting of furniture surfaces, shelves, etc. This is not the time to reorganize… just dust visible surfaces.
• Make sure the couches and chairs look presentable, with seat cushions and throw pillows in position. Use the vacuum or a grout brush first to clean under cushions and furniture upholstery to remove hairs and crumbs.
• Sweep or vacuum the floor. A clean floor always makes any room look cleaner… and while you’re vacuuming, don’t forget the tops of boards, tv, radio ac or fan and any cobwebs near the ceiling.
• Finally, take a quick look around to see if you missed anything… and if you did, take care of it now.
• You’re done!
