"I chose to grow Balugu because it is one of the native food crops in Uganda," notes Luke Food Services CEO and Founder, Babirete Phillip Mubiru. "It is also delicious and nutritious!" Besides being delicious and providing many essential vitamins, this plant keeps well and is especially useful in droughts as it could be stored for up to 5 months.

Though turkey poults are just as adorable as baby chicks, they are a lot tougher to raise. While their chicken counterparts are more resilient, turkey chicks are more fragile and prone to disease. We have found that they require 3-5 bouts of immunization to ensure survival. Beyond that, mothering in the two birds differ. "My experience is that the turkey hens are not so good at taking care of the younger ones," says CEO and founder of Luke Food Services, Babirete Phillip Mubiru, "and that causes some deaths among the turkey chicks".
