What is the difference between WAN And LAN?
A WAN (Wide Area Network) is a network that spans a large geographic area, connecting multiple LANs (Local Area Networks). WANs typically use public infrastructure like telephone lines, cables, or satellites. They're used for connecting offices across cities or countries, accessing the internet, or linking data centers.
A LAN (Local Area Network), on the other hand, is confined to a small geographic area like a home, office, or campus. It's used for local communication between devices like computers, printers, and servers. LANs often operate at higher speeds than WANs and are commonly used for sharing resources and accessing local services.
