Job description
• To undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer service experience.
• To build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints/requests quickly to maintain high quality customer service to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay.
• To be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes.
• To undertake general office duties, including correspondence, emails, filing, handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly and courteously.
• To administer all routes of reservations to ensure that room bookings are made and recorded accurately while processing cancellations efficiently.
• To market the services of the guesthouse to potential customers, attract and retain them.
• To supervise and support staff, such as cooks and housekeepers, and direct their daily duties in accordance to the laid down standards and their service is courteous and professional.
• To ensure that all areas around the guesthouse are clean and tidy at all times.
• To carry out systematic checks of all areas for maintenance requirements, repairs or refurbishing, ensuring that these are actioned without delay.
• To ensure maximum security in all areas around the guesthouse.
• To ensure accurate and timeous submission of all reports and administrative work.
• To check the guest house areas for cleanliness before guests arrive, table layout and stipulated specific requirements to enable shortcomings to be rectified.
• To provide effective leadership through professional man-management and encouragement of subordinates.
