Does God always answer our prayers? Is He like a Father who never denies His children anything? A good father knows when to say no. Our heavenly Father knows best what is good for us, so He too says ‘no’ sometimes. When we pray for something that goes against God’s Word, we may know for certain that he doesn’t grant us our wishes.

At other times He seems to be completely silent and we start to wonder: Does God really care?

‘My Grace is Sufficient’

The apostle Paul says he prayed to the Lord and the Lord did not do what he asked. This should be a good example for us to see that prayers are not always answered. God gave Paul an answer, He said no. This was, however, not the answer Paul was praying for. God answered according to His will and not according to what Paul wanted. The question is not if Paul’s faith was insufficient. The question was not if Paul had sin in his life. The question is, which is better: Our desire or God’s will?

“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:8,9)

Trusting God Knows Best

We only see what our eyes see. But God sees all. The Bible says: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

That is a good reason to trust His decisions. Our hearts deceive us into selfish desires that are not the best for our lives many times. We seek the fastest solution and a quick fix. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test a

HOW ONE 'CEO' TAUGHT HIS EMPLOYEES A LESSON IN INTEGRITY!

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you..”

The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. “I am going to give each one of you a SEED today – one very special SEED… I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO.”

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn’t have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by — still nothing in Jim’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn’t say anything to his colleagues, however.

He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil – He so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.

Jim told his wife that he wasn’t going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful — in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him.

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back. “My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown,” said the CEO. “Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!”

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, “The CEO knows I’m a failure; Maybe he will have me fired...”

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed – Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, “Behold your next Chief Executive Officer; His name is Jim” Jim couldn’t believe it. Jim couldn’t even grow his seed.

“How could he be the new CEO?” the others said.

Then the CEO said, “One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead – it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer.”

• If you plant honesty, you will reap trust,
• If you plant goodness, you will reap friends,
• If you plant humility, you will reap greatness,
• If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment,
• If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective,
• If you plant hard work, you will reap success,
• If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation,
• If you plant faith in God, you will reap a harvest...

So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

OVERCOMING OUR PAST

"Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah." Judges 11:29a

We've all heard stories of individuals who have overcome extreme hardship during their childhood years. Children of alcoholics, orphans who never have parents, loss of parents to a fatal crash, childhood disease. These are all difficult circumstances to overcome.

Jephthah was a man who overcame his obstacles and refused to allow his circumstances to prevent him from becoming great in God's sight. He was born to Gilead, a result of his father's adulterous encounter with a pr******te. Gilead's wife, who had bore more sons, decided to reject Jephthah, and drove him away from their home saying, "You are not going to get any inheritance in our family because you are the son of another woman." Imagine the rejection this young man felt as he was cast away from his own family.

This experience taught Jephthah to become a hardened warrior. Today he probably would have been part of a street gang. As he got older, his reputation as a warrior became known to those in his country, so much so that when the Ammonites made war on Israel, the elders of Gilead went to Jephthah and asked him to be their commander. Jephthah had to fight off those feelings of rejection from previous years.

"Didn't you hate me and drive me from my father's house?" he responded. He overcame his hurt and pain, and responded to the call God had on his life.

It is said that if we were to help the butterfly remove itself from the cocoon, the butterfly would not be strong enough to survive. It is the struggle that prepares the butterfly to become strong enough to fly. Without the struggle in the cocoon, it could not survive as a butterfly.

The Lord prepares each of us in similar ways. Some of our childhoods seem to have been harsh and born from a seemingly unloving God. However, the Lord knows our struggle and will make our life an instrument in His hand if we will follow Him with an upright heart. He does make all things beautiful in His time if we are willing to be patient.

PRAYER: "Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits which you have given us; for all the pains and insults which you have borne for us. O most merciful redeemer, friend, and brother, may we know you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly."

Experience should be the tasks successfully accomplished not the years spent on the job.
To all successful people there are million setbacks behind the shadows. Millions of heart breaks disappointments from partners and business associations, failed projects that would have left them ending their lives. But the burden in them of success and entrepreneurship keeps knocking and never let them seat down. No wonder they say there are a lot of death in Japan caused by failed projects. This reflects the rate of development as well.

It takes painful moments and a lot of endurance for one to shine in the limelight of Média and be celebrated but the stories behind are not always good and when told they look like lies.

One can enjoy a successful office for 15years and never taken any risk that may raise or fail the organization but a man of only 5 years in the field like our Brother mark z. Take a lot of disappointment and risks to raise Facebook as a successful project. We need to change our recruiting style and may be now change a little when advertising for jobs. Encourage people to put also their failed projects on cv and time invested and the visions they had in those failed projects. There people who have never even started anything for their own but they are the interviewers?.

Heart of leadership.
In almost everything leadership is key. Nations, organizations, teams and families. Their strength and pride to thrive is dependent on the leadership. We have had many leaders of AU but an ambitious leader in months made a historic moment for Africa. It’s the lion that prepares the others the will leader the family after he has gone. We have seen teams at the verge of collapse raise again just because of change of leadership. As fathers and mothers we are the vision shapers of our kids but if they don’t see any good leadership in us some dreams in there minds eventually die. As a leader when achievements come we need to always throw them to the subordinates to build them stronger and when challenges come we may need to shoulder them stronger to protect the week in our teams. Our fathers did not wear designer labels just preparing us to shine in this modern world most of us learned good leadership and endurance from these people.

Leading the team that believes in you is a motivation to a leader and a challenge to keep the trust high. As a fun of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson retired when I still believed that his presence on the pitch was one goal ahead of our opponents even before we started playing and I believe it was not me alone.
