POWERPOINT PRESENTATION is one of the new digital weapons that have killed many people across the globe! Amused?! Yes don’t be, I mean to be right on the issue of presentation. Many presenters are found reading out to the audience what they are supposed to say out in words!
Question is. Can you do a whole presentation without using those killer slides? If your answer is yes, then you’re one step away to survive being murdered by your own PowerPoint presentation. I am not discouraging the use of PowerPoint in presentations, not at all because it’s the new trend moving in a new paradigm-shift, so used to say my first college Professor. But the fact is, few people are competent in PowerPoint presentations and the biggest numbers of presenters are into the end-zones.
I am going to give you one trick of becoming a good PowerPoint presenter. Trick is, stick on the traditional way of presenting as you master best ways of presenting using PowerPoint. That way you will save yourself of showing your butts to the audience as you’re trying to read your own PowerPoint slides. As the name is, POWER POINT, you have to include only powerful points in that slides and make them enjoyable, easy to read and easy to be remembered.
When am supposed to present and the organizers ask me if am comfortable in using PowerPoint, I just ask them if it’s okay to combine with traditional presentation. If they say yes, then I end up the happiest presenter of the day! Why, because I will have less chances of being killed by my own PowerPoint presentation since I will have the traditional back up. It’s not because I don’t know PowerPoint presentation, in fact am good in it though I feel it hasn’t matched best to the traditional way the latter being so open and extensive compared to the brief PowerPoint style of presentation.
