“When energy meets productivity, it unlocks income, dignity, and long-term development.”
— Racheal Ariokot, Productive Use of Energy (PUE) Officer, NOA Energy Services Uganda

At NOA Uganda, we believe energy access is only the first step. The real impact happens when that energy is put to work, powering businesses, increasing incomes, and transforming livelihoods across the communities we serve.

Through our Productive Use of Energy (PUE) initiatives, we are enabling people to turn access into opportunity and build more sustainable futures.

Exploring Innovative Utility Models for Island Communities ⚡

The NOA Energy Services Uganda team recently visited Kalangala Infrastructure Services (KIS) in Kalangala District for a benchmarking engagement focused on understanding the Water as a Service (WaaS) model.

The visit offered valuable insights into how KIS delivers essential utilities; water, electricity, and ferry services, to island communities, and how similar integrated approaches can inspire NOA’s future service models.

The team, including Jane Birungi (Commercial Director), Charlene Nagawa (Technical Operations Manager), Ronald Bossa (Finance Manager), KIVUMBI ALEX (EPC Manager), and Racheal Ariokot (Productive Use of Energy Officer), held discussions with KIS experts on business models, regulatory frameworks, and community engagement.

This learning exchange marks another important step in NOA’s mission to design sustainable, community-centered utility solutions that improve lives across Uganda. 🌍

Scaling Up Energy Access in Bunjako! ⚡

We are thrilled to share that we held a public hearing for our new Bunjako II project. This landmark 1MW solar minigrid will provide clean, reliable power to all 30,000 residents of the island.

After 4 successful years of the Bunjako I project, this expansion is a clear sign of our commitment to powering communities and driving sustainable development.

The project is co-funded by the Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa (BGFA), and together, we are proving that renewable energy can transform lives and fuel economic growth.

Here’s to brighter, stronger, and more empowered communities in Bunjako and beyond! 🌍✨
