Life is full of paradoxes! The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race. The educated person doesn’t always live a successful life. The disciplined person doesn’t always have a balanced life. The persistent person doesn’t always have his way. How is it so? Whereas all these qualities are good of themselves, they seem to have limitations. In other words, there is a point beyond which these virtues become vice. It takes wisdom to know where these qualities end and where to find their supplement. Wisdom tells us to be strong enough to admit our weakness and brave enough to be cautious; to be sure enough to ask questions and trusting enough to plan and to be powerful enough to know your limits and free enough to be responsible. Strategy is better than strength. Now, to bend speaks of two things. It speaks of adaptability . In this case, it means that if we are not adaptable to change, in the end we will be devastated. It also speaks of humility. In that case, it means if we don’t humble ourselves, in the end pride will destroy us. Be bendable!
