UWA Board has successfully concluded a week-long supervisory visit to Kidepo Valley Conservation Area.
Key highlights included a visit to the upcoming Kidepo International Airport, expected to boost tourism and create new economic opportunities, as well as an engagement with community-based tourism at Rionomoe Lodge.
The Board also met staff at Apoka, addressing operational challenges and announcing improvements such as increased patrol allowances, streamlined promotions, and planned salary enhancements.
Staff were commended for their resilience and encouraged to continue working closely with communities to strengthen conservation efforts.
This visit marks a major step in promoting tourism growth, improving staff welfare, and strengthening conservation in Kidepo.
