Behind the scenes 👀 mixing our potting soil:

That expanding coco coir is exactly why our potting mix works so well. Light, airy, and packed with room for roots to actually move and establish themselves the way they’re supposed to.

We blend our own organic compost, coco coir, peat moss, and organic rice hulls to keep things loose, breathable, and moisture-retentive without breaking down and compacting over time.

Big box potting soil is heavy, loaded with filler, and starts working against your plants the longer it sits in the bag. Ours is mixed fresh right here in Aberdeen by veterans who care what actually goes into it.

Whether you’re starting seeds or filling a full outdoor container setup, this mix is built to perform all season long.

One of the best ways we can honor the fallen is to live a full and meaningful life. 🫡🇺🇸

For our crew, many of us ourselves, that means showing up to do work that matters: turning into soil, feeding the community, and giving something back to the land our friends fought for.

asks us to pause; to remember the ones who didn't make it home. To carry their names forward not just in silence, but in how we spend the days we still have.

So today, we remember. Tomorrow, we'll be back at it - because they can't be, and because building something good in their memory is work that doesn't stop.

This is your quarterly reminder ⚡️ that just because it’s green and from an store, doesn’t make it .

For what it’s worth, we don’t get it either:

This single use bag survived our system, including our 140F piles, because that’s what plastic does best: last forever.

Here’s how you can help:
🪣 Please don’t put any plastic looking bag into your bucket - before checking that it’s labeled compostable
♻️ Skip the bag entirely, or opt for a re-usable version.
🍇 Take your produce out of its packaging and wash before putting away.

Finally, this bag was filled with super-rotted grapes. Avoid - AND wasted money - by properly storing your produce, and making sure all perishables are front and center in the home. We love the idea of an “eat now” bin in the fridge for snacks.

They’re In Their Era 🐓😱

In addition to being our favorite co-workers, our chickens are hard at work each day on our piles. Turns out, a chicken’s natural instincts to peck, scratch and eat bugs is perfectly matched to . They come pre-trained and ready to rock.

They also lay eggs 🥚🍳 which we love sharing with our families.
