I picked up the trumpet for the first time in 1994 when I was in junior high. It was awkward, loud, and wasn't anything like what I thought it would be. But, I didn't stop trying to learn how to play music that year. The following year I got a little bit better, and the year after that showed even more improvement. Today, I can play multiple instruments! I've conducted symphonies, taught music to

11 year olds, and have even written a few songs myself. I tell you that story to say this: most things in life that are important require time and work. This is a major pillar upon which I have built my business. As a Raymond James financial advisor, I see many parallels with retirement income planning and learning a skill like music. "You get out of it what you put into it" and "Practice makes perfect" and "Success isn't always instantaneous" are just a few of those commonalities. I was a public-school band director for 10 years. I can truly say I have the heart of a teacher, because I used to be one! I am happily married to my best friend Ashley and we have 3 wonderful boys. We love the outdoors, fishing, and camping, as well as spending as much time in or near water as possible. Just as I had private instruction on my musical journey, today I partner with all my clients to provide one-on-one instruction and guidance to help them achieve short and long-term goals on their financial journey.
