@🔮 THE 7 HERMETIC PRINCIPLES
A Deeper Study with Psychic Advisor Cassandra
🧠 1. THE PRINCIPLE OF MENTALISM
“The All is Mind.”
Mentalism teaches that consciousness is fundamental to how reality is understood and experienced.
This doesn't simply mean “think something and magically receive it.” It points toward the idea that our thoughts, perceptions, beliefs, interpretations, and awareness influence the way we experience the world.
Your mind acts as a filter.
Two people can experience the exact same event and walk away with completely different interpretations because their internal worlds are different.
This principle encourages us to examine:
🧠 What am I thinking?
🧠 What beliefs are influencing me?
🧠 Am I reacting to reality or to my interpretation of reality?
🧠 What patterns exist in my consciousness?
Teaching point: Before attempting to change your external circumstances, examine the consciousness through which you are experiencing them.

⚖️ 2. THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE
“As above, so below; as below, so above.”
Correspondence is about patterns and relationships between different levels of reality.
The same types of patterns can appear on different scales.
For example, someone might repeatedly experience disorder in their environment while also feeling mentally overwhelmed. That doesn't automatically mean one magically caused the other—but observing the correspondence can reveal something worth examining.
This principle asks us to look for patterns between:
🌌 Macrocosm and microcosm
🧠 Mind and behavior
❤️ Inner world and relationships
🌱 Individual patterns and larger systems
Teaching point: Look for recurring patterns rather than isolated events.
Correspondence is an invitation to ask:
“Where else is this pattern appearing?”

🌊 3. THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION
“Nothing rests; everything moves.”
This is the principle people often associate with “raising your vibration.”
But Hermetic vibration is broader than modern manifestation language.
The principle proposes that everything exists in states of motion or vibration, with differences between things understood as differences in degree.
In practical spiritual work, people may use “vibration” metaphorically to describe states such as:
✨ Peace
✨ Fear
✨ Love
✨ Anger
✨ Creativity
✨ Depression
✨ Excitement
Your emotional state can change your perception, behavior, decisions, and interactions.
So instead of simply saying:
“Raise your vibration.”
A deeper question is:
“What state am I cultivating, and how is that state influencing what I do?”
Teaching point: Don't use spirituality to deny difficult emotions. Observe them, understand them, and consciously choose how you respond.
---
☯️ 4. THE PRINCIPLE OF POLARITY
This principle teaches that seemingly opposite things can be understood as existing along a spectrum.
Hot and cold are not completely separate substances—they represent different degrees of temperature.
Likewise, courage and fear can sometimes exist together.
Love and hate can both involve intense emotional attachment, although they are not morally or psychologically identical.
The Hermetic teaching encourages understanding degrees and transitions rather than automatically treating everything as absolutely separate.
Ask yourself:
⚖️ Where am I on the spectrum?
⚖️ What would moving one degree toward my desired state look like?
⚖️ Am I turning a difference of degree into an absolute division?
Teaching point: Understanding polarity can help us recognize that states can change.

🔄 5. THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM
Everything moves through cycles.
🌅 Sunrise → sunset
🌱 Growth → rest
🌊 High tide → low tide
❤️ Expansion → contraction
🔥 Activity → recovery
Human life also contains rhythms.
There will be periods when you're highly productive and periods when you need recovery.
There will be beginnings, endings, growth, setbacks, and renewal.
The deeper lesson isn't:
“Never experience a low.”
It's:
“Understand that movement is part of existence.”
When you recognize cycles, you can stop interpreting every difficult period as permanent.
Teaching point: A temporary descent doesn't necessarily mean you've lost your direction.
---
🌀 6. THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE AND EFFECT
This principle teaches that events occur within chains of causes and consequences rather than existing completely independently.
Your choices produce consequences.
Your habits influence outcomes.
Your actions affect other people.
And other people's actions affect you.
Hermetic teaching also challenges the idea of being completely passive in life.
Instead of only asking:
“Why is this happening to me?”
You can also ask:
“What factors contributed to this?”
and:
“What can I influence from this point forward?”
⚠️ This does not mean every tragedy is someone's fault or that people “manifested” everything bad that happened to them.
That's an important distinction.
Teaching point: Understanding causation should create awareness and responsibility—not victim-blaming.
---
⚥ 7. THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER
This is probably the principle that requires the most explanation because the word “gender” can be misunderstood through a modern lens.
In The Kybalion, the principle describes masculine and feminine principles as operating throughout creation and generation.
It is presented as a universal polarity, not simply a statement about biological s*x or modern gender identity.
The masculine principle is traditionally associated with:
☀️ Projection
🔥 Activity
➡️ Direction
⚡ Initiation
The feminine principle is traditionally associated with:
🌙 Receptivity
🌱 Development
🌀 Gestation
✨ Generation
The teaching emphasizes that both principles are necessary for creation.
In spiritual practice, this can be interpreted symbolically: creating something often requires both the impulse to begin and the capacity to receive, develop, nurture, and bring it into form.
Teaching point: Creation requires complementary forces—not necessarily one person or one s*x embodying only one side.

🔮 THE BIGGER LESSON
The Seven Principles aren't meant to be seven magical shortcuts.
They're better approached as a philosophical framework for observing reality, consciousness, patterns, change, and human behavior.
🧠 Mentalism — Examine consciousness.
⚖️ Correspondence — Observe patterns.
🌊 Vibration — Understand states and movement.
☯️ Polarity — Recognize spectrums and opposites.
🔄 Rhythm — Understand cycles.
🌀 Cause & Effect — Examine consequences.
⚥ Gender — Understand complementary creative principles.
Study them. Question them. Observe them. Apply them thoughtfully.
