What started as a unique fundraising adventure has become something much bigger.

With more than 150 teams participating over the years, Cody says every team becomes an ambassador for the special needs community.

They're talking about it with friends, at church, at work, and everywhere they go.

And that's how awareness grows.

Sometimes making a difference doesn't start with a big donation or a grand gesture.

🤠🐎 **WHEN A DIFFERENCE BECOMES AN ADVANTAGE!**

Imagine working cattle on horseback, surrounded by 200 head of cattle, and being able to communicate across the herd without shouting a single word.

🎙️ During our conversation on **Behind the X's & O's**, Cody Cox, Executive Director of Camp Able, shared an incredible story about two deaf twin sisters who grew up in a ranching family.

According to Cody, the sisters developed their own way of signing, allowing them and their father to communicate while working cattle.

And in that environment, their ability to communicate visually gives them an advantage.

Sometimes we spend so much time focusing on what someone cannot do that we overlook what they can do exceptionally well.

❤️ **WE DON'T SEE A DIAGNOSIS. WE SEE OUR GRANDSON.**

Sometimes being a grandparent gives you a different perspective.

During our conversation with Cody Cox, Executive Director of Camp Able, I shared something personal about our family's journey with autism.

When we look at our grandson, we don't see a label.

We see our grandson. ❤️

As grandparents, we're still learning. We're still trying to understand. And most importantly, we're learning how to support our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson as they navigate their own journey.

Because sometimes love isn't about having all the answers.

It's about understanding your role and being there for the people who need you.

🐴❤️ **CAN A HORSE HELP SOMEONE FIND CALM?**

This story gave Cody Cox chills.

During our conversation on **Behind the X's & O's**, Cody, Executive Director of Camp Able, shared an incredible account involving a veteran struggling with PTSD and a horse.

According to Cody, researchers monitored their heart rates during an interaction and observed something remarkable: as the veteran became distressed, the horse's heart rate increased. When the horse began to calm, the veteran's heart rate reportedly followed.

It's a story that raises fascinating questions about the connection between people and animals.
